I have been debating making a post about this, but Cricket you deserve so much more than just these words, posts, prayers. everything. You deserve more time with you family and community. This is all so unfair to you. I can’t stop thinking about you and all the memories we had together from t-ball to softball and basketball as kids and then growing together in high school. Us passing notes in class thinking we were so slick. We always thought we got away with everything… we got away with very little. I miss screaming our songs in the car, hearing you sing at graduation, watching you act in Altamont plays, taking photos of you at tennis matches. You saw me in many phases of my life and I am destroyed to continue these milestones without you. You would always call me at the randomest times without fail every other week and we would just update each other on our first year in college and our new lives and schedules and then say goodbye. I loved hearing about your new friends and experiences and then being nostalgic about our old memories. We used to tell each other the same stories from years ago and still laugh about it over and over. I still have a song you wrote in my notes page we used to always laugh at. I keep looking at my phone hoping to see the “lil chirp is typing…” and i’ll open it to a funny tiktok, or whatever wild photo you wanted to send me that day. You always wanted me to come to Tuscaloosa and when I did you always offered me your couch and a place to stay and even dinner or rides. You sure did know how to be the be host. From raiding your pantry late at night to early morning starbucks runs to mid day swims i’ll forever miss you. One of my favorite memories with you was music midtown with you. You had been talking nonstop about billie eilish forever and I got to be with you when you saw her live. When she came on stage you starting crying with joy I had never seen you so happy before and I love i get to share that memory with you. The last time I saw you was December 20th of 2022. I wish I had given you one last hug and told you I loved you.
