Childhood wish ACHIEVED.
Before 9/11, kids were invited to come up to the cockpit, take a picture with the pilot, and given an airline pin. My childhood self was way too shy to take advantage, even though I really wanted to. It’s a holiday miracle! On the last day of Hanukkah, I got sufganiyot from @isaacs_bagels. There were only three left when I bought mine. The airiness and texture of the dough made a beautiful home for a light vanilla bean filling which had just the slightest bit of lemon to add brightness and contrast. This is the best sufganiyot I’ve ever had!

To balance things out, I had their winter tomato sandwich on a salt and pepper bagel. If you eat lox, I’m a huge fan of their lox sandwich.

And because I couldn’t help it, their brownies are rich and decadent without sticking to your throat.

Go if you haven’t already!! Get your donuts!!!! Happy Hanukkah!!!

I traversed the trails of the Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD Nature Preserve Park with @exploretheplanetwithjanet. We saw beautiful river and pond views and lots of beautiful white-tailed deer.

The trails were all short enough for us to tackle them all in a few hours. We did the Pond Loop first since it was mainly in the sun, then walked along Epps Forest Loop and Hidden Rocks Trail, where we found the rare Resurrection Ferns growing on the large rocks from which the trail got its name.

I brought in quite the haul visiting thrift and consignment stores while visiting the beach. My Wilmington best bets are @thefairycircle, The Assistance League of Greater Wilmington, @vintagevalues_wilm on 413 College Rd., and @bargainboxofwilmington.

What sweetened the deal were the sales that Bargain Box and Vintage Values had going on. Best find was a pair of silver sneakers for $8 from Vintage Values and some never worn shoes and clothing at Bargain Box.

Tip: Make sure that you pay attention to the color of the tags at the Fairy Circle and check that the discount corresponding to the tag color rings up. The Assistance League doesn’t have changing rooms so examine items and wear clothes you can try things over.

Feeling lighthearted while romping in the sand and surf at @carolinabeachnc, so much so that I had to double back. 🏖💗 Look at that Carolina blue sky and green ocean.
