Happy National Dance Dayyyy 💜🔥
A second to show gratitude for the gift of dance and SOME of the amazing people and moments that had come across my mind. (Some bc not all vibes get recorded ;)
I been getting more into my dancing bag this year, and although far from perfect, it feels better dancing now than before.

1: @thealiyajanell - a moment that reminds me of how much I love to perform
2: @jalyn_j4 - I had some anger to let out this Wenzday sesh, my Aries self loved this😭
3: @taraja.03 - my first class from the legendary Taraja, she’s actually crazy
4: @artisticallydavien_ - a beautiful piece that felt like I was floating
5: @rebirthofczar - everytime rico teaches Im fighting for my life, but also vibing HEAVILY
6: @margeretolivia - The only footage i have of this choreo, but need to re-record ( i been saying that since jan ) 😭
@denzel_chisolm - Throwback to 2023 before my 2 year dance break

Thank you all for sharing your art, and inspiring my journey!!!

#milkitlikedeschallenge

I first came around des’ original video when i first started getting introduced to dance in middle school. I loved Southern U’s style of majorette, and would try to imitate it in my room but failed so miserably. I joined my high school band’s majorette team and had the time of my life til the band director who previously band directed at an hbcu said i was too dark to possibly be on any colleges majorette team, so i stopped, and went on to learn my now fave, hip hop.
I thought about this choreo often for years, never really thinking about majorette until I saw des on my timeline, talking about how she never made SU’s team after auditioning multiple years in a row due to the team’s politics.
It reminded me of how even though you may not have reached your personal goal(s) you can still make an impression and inspire others to work towards theirs as well. by @margeretolivia
