A few really knock out “smalls” newly arrived to the website today including: a divine pair of 16th century Genoese marble palmettes, an exceptional 18th century French folk lantern, two sublime 18th century glasses from Liège, a rare 18th century Arras porcelain bottle cooler, and a large Georgian glass tazza on a handsome Silesian stem.

While technically accurate, I’ve always loathed the term smalls. I strongly believe that an exceptional piece of glassware or porcelain can pack as much of a punch as much of the larger fair but I digress…

A very busy couple of months running around France before heading straight into the wildly successful East Hampton Antique Show. Thank you to everyone who came out, clients both old and new, to shop our latest collection of antiques. Though most of what I brought back from my trip sold out, there are a few show-stopping pieces waiting to be discovered once I finish up sending out orders and settling back into things at the studio.

We are open! After a fabulous opening party for the @e.hamptonantiquesdesignshow last night, we are officially open this morning. Fresh off our sourcing trip to France with treasures in tow including a stunning 18th century Verdure tapestry, a finely painted 17th century Flemish seascape, and a divine pair of 16th century marble palmettes from Italy.

George I Giltwood and Gesso Girandole C. 1725 with two brass candle arms and perfectly foxed mercury mirror plate. Wonderful surface to the gilding and incredibly handsome proportions. All the right stuff in all the right places.

New In—A rare 18th Century Walnut & Seaweed Marquetry Chest of Drawers inlaid throughout with finely carved lobed oval panels of intricate marquetry. The chest has two short upper drawers and three long lower drawers on bracket feet. A piece to fight over in the will.

Curio Studio Clean Out—Curio has evolved quite a bit since the shop started five years ago. Along the way we have racked up a wide assortment of textiles, spare plates, and other delightful treasures that have either been forgotten about or never exactly made it onto the site. This weekend, we are opening up the archives for our clients to shop.

All pieces are priced $450 & below and are here to be snapped up and re-homed. As we continue our clean-out, more pieces will likely be added to discover. Time to make room for what’s to come!

Celebrated my 32nd birthday by whipping up a dinner party for ten friends old and new! Nothing like 6 pounds of lamb, mounds of butter, flowing vino, an enormous cake, and a game of Who Am I to bring people together.

I’ll be spending the rest of the day in bed gathering my strength to do the dishes. Feeling very grateful and very loved 💗 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @margotmayer_
