Supplies needed & measurements to make your own pattern are below!

🧵Supplies:
-Outside: 2 bandanas
-Lining: 3/4 yard of fabric
-Structure: 3/4 yard of Pellon flex foam
-Handle: 1 inch strip of batting
-Face: 5x5 inches of Sew n Bond fusible iron on adhesive
-Thread

✂️Pattern Measurements:
-Panels: 9x4.5 inch rectangle with the corners trimmed to the edge. Top & bottom are 3 1/4 inches (took 1.5 cm off the right & left)
-Octagon: 7 7/8 inch square. Fold like you’re folding a paper snowflake until you see the octagon shape! Edges are 3 1/4 inches
-Handle: 4x25 inches
-Face: Just traced the first one I found when I searched “jack o lantern face”

Here’s a tutorial on how I sewed this dress!! Shirring is so forgiving when it comes to sizing so this is a pretty beginner friendly project because you don’t have to get the measurements or sizing exactly right!

I saw a dress just like this months ago that I’ve been wanting to recreate but was waiting to find the perfect fabric and I just think it’s so cool to see something you like and literally just copy paste your own version especially when you can make your own version cotton & a quarter of the cost

I wish I had taken a before photo because this was not cute as an 8XL hawaiian shirt (I looked like adam sandler), but loving it as a dress!! honestly the trick with these buttons down thrift flips is start with a wayy bigger shirt than you think you’ll need and go for the ones labeled big & tall!
This was a test pattern for @not.so.plain.janee and it was so fun to try!
