We made so many new friends these last couple of months so we feel like we should reintroduce ourselves. 👋

Here’s your margs cohost, communications manager, scheduler and networking extraordinaire…. CAIT!

Did we mention her book comes out on May 28th 👀

There are a lot of new people here, so let’s reintroduce ourselves real quick. 👋

Here’s your margs cohost, manager of the aesthetic, builder of all the things and refuses-to-quit specialist…. JENNA!

She’s a special kind of writer who picked romantasy so she never has to follow the rules in a more socially acceptable rules.

Almost one year being on this journey and it’s been a pretty special ride.

Don’t let the fear of embarrassment stop you from making space for yourself.

There’s plenty of room here. by @margsandmanuscripts

your idea isn’t bad. it’s just not finished. 🔮
this week we talked with @a.l.sinclairauthor about the question that became the witch queen’s gambit: what if anne boleyn was a witch? we also got into giving george boleyn the spotlight history never gave him, her murder-y matchmaker witch wip, and what it’s like to be agented, on submission, and waiting like the rest of us.

your friend wrote a book. here’s how to support an author for free 📚

review it, request it at your library, share their posts, and send it to a reader friend. that’s how indie authors grow 🫶

Ethical montetization in this community has been a huge conversation. Here’s how we’re giving back

1. Book Drop- we send 3 indie books to substack subscribers each month and 60% is paid right back to the authors

2. We divvy up episodes and save spots each season for only indie authors and pre-published writers to chime in

3. Ad space is only sold to indie authors to promote their books or companies we feel support the indie community in positive ways by @margsandmanuscripts

hot take: the best romantasy heroines don’t pick the guy. they pick themselves. (the guy can come along if he keeps up.)

we talked to orin steele about writing an fmc who chooses herself, why her book one ending feels like a rally cry, and what happens when mercy leaves the chat in book two. 🔥

full episode is live now. link in bio.

send this to the friend who’s tired of heroines shrinking for a man.

@authorjennagjudith flew through this one and may or may not be DMing her regularly with questions about book 2. Oopsie!
