Mio Bello Papa, Tony Iacono, passed away on July 9th 2023.
July is the middle month of winter, a time where nature takes a rest, a time of dormancy, when trees and roses are left bare showing their framework.
During this time of sleep, the wisdom of the earth is replenishing the sustenance required for new life.
It is so fitting to me that Dad quietly left us in the middle of winter.
This beautiful wise man knew we could rest our hearts and replenish our souls as he rests with his beloved wife.
It is no surprise then, that our Mum left us in June 2019, the beginning of winter.
Together, Tony and Rosina, now part of the nature they both loved, are teaching us in death, what they taught us in life - listen and watch - let nature be your teacher. Watch the birds prepare their nests in winter, ready for new life to be born. Nature is perfectly balanced. Learn from it!
During our winter, we are being replenished with the love and wisdom of their combined lives.
When Spring arrives, (perhaps at a different time for all of us who are grieving), the buds of Mum and Dad’s fruits will start to blossom.
Then grow and ripen.
The bare trees become full of fruit, and the roses are preparing to bloom. The empty nests will bear new life.
Nature is starting its cycle again.
It’s at this time we can again be sustained by rest in our winter, starting to bear the new buds of blossom in our spring. Then, with the sun shining and warming the earth, the abundant fruits of nature feed us, and our souls, until we become fully replenished with more wisdom and a more bountiful love.
Thank you Papa.
Thank you Mamma.
My love for you will never ever diminish. You were the lights of my life.
