my dad, my best friend, my number one motivator. I miss you. People often tell me I am a mini version of my dad, and that has always been my favorite compliment. Never once did I have to question how proud he was of me. My dad always brought the fun and goofiness showing me that life is what you make of it. I’ve realized that no amount of time will ever feel like enough, but am so thankful for all the memories I get to hold onto. My heart hurts but I can find comfort in knowing he is exactly where he wants to be. While nothing about this feels good right now, keeping with his relentless optimism, I can’t wait to see how much good Jesus will use it for.

In John 16:33 Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” My dad had me read this to him multiple times and has given me strength in this time. When good news has seemed few and far in between I can have peace because my God has conquered anything this world throws at us. Jesus conquered death so that dying would only be the doorway to eternity.

I love you dad. always remember and never forget. by @maria.broerman
