I thought I needed a bigger audience before I was allowed to take content creation seriously.

5K, 10K, more views, more proof that I was “ready.”

But at some point I realised I could either keep waiting for my account to look impressive enough or start treating this like the creator business I actually want to build.

So I started pitching brands before I felt ready.

And I’m learning that building something alongside a 9–5 isn’t about waiting until you have the perfect audience, portfolio or amount of time.

Sometimes you have to start acting like the person you’re trying to become before you have the numbers to prove it.

This is Creator Diaries where I am documenting what it actually looks like to build a creator business while still working corporate.

Episode 2 next week: what happened after I started pitching. Follow along to build it with me🤍

a busy day but the sunny coffee breaks made this office day more enjoyable.
Hope you also implement enjoyable breaks into your 9-5.

Not every office day starts with motivation, especially when it’s still dark outside. ☕️🍂

But a good outfit, a coffee on the way and a few little moments to look forward to can make even the busiest weekdays feel better.

Still figuring out how to enjoy my 9–5 without constantly waiting for the weekend. 🤍

Follow for realistic corporate life and building a life outside work.

Better late than never, but September results are in.
And they’re real.

Building a UGC business alongside my corporate 9–5 has been exciting, overwhelming and a much bigger learning curve than I expected.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I’m also realizing that landing brand deals and building a sustainable business are two very different things.

And I’m definitely still figuring out the second part. 😅

If you’re building something of your own while working full-time, follow along. I’m sharing the real numbers, lessons and everything I’m learning as I go. 🤍

I don’t want to spend five days a week just waiting for the weekend. 🤍

I enjoy my corporate job, but I’ve learned that the little things we do around work can completely change how our weekdays feel.

Because building a career you love shouldn’t mean putting the rest of your life on hold.

Follow if you’re figuring out how to have both. 🤍

You know how full my weekdays can get between my 9–5 and everything that goes into building this page outside of it.

I’ve realised I work best when I can actually see my day in front of me and block dedicated time for both. That’s exactly what I’ve been using my @karstgoods Pro Series Planner for lately.

It helps me keep work tasks, creator plans and notes in one place without everything feeling scattered.

Ad|Gifted If you want to try Karst too, you can use MARIA for 10% off, or use the link in my bio and the discount will apply automatically.

Sometimes you don’t need a new job.
You need your job to stop taking up so much of your life.

If work has been following you into your lunch, evenings and weekends lately, swipe through this one.

When was the last time you had something to look forward to on a random Tuesday?

Your weekdays deserve plans too even small ones.

Being available every minute of the workday isn’t the same as being good at your job.

Take the lunch.
Step away.
Let tomorrow’s message wait until tomorrow.

Work starts feeling a lot bigger when it’s the only thing getting your attention.

Text the friend.
Make the plan.
Have the conversation that has absolutely nothing to do with your job.

You get five weekdays every week. That’s too much of your life to spend waiting for Saturday. 🤍

Save this for the weeks when work starts taking up a little too much space and follow @maria.unfolding if you want the career AND the life around it.

I stopped expecting my weekends to make up for five days of just work. 🤍

Some evenings are for plans, some for Pilates, some for building something of my own and some are literally just dinner and doing nothing.

But they’re still mine.

Follow if you’re figuring out how to make more of your life happen outside your 9–5 too.

I learned pretty quickly that being good at your job is only one part of being good at corporate.

A lot of the things that actually helped me build my career had nothing to do with working longer hours or trying to prove I was the hardest-working person in the room.

They were smaller things I had to learn along the way: how to carry myself, how to work with people, when to speak up and who to keep close.

And honestly, I wish I’d understood that much earlier.

I’ve been working in corporate for years now, and I want to share more of the things I genuinely wish I knew when I was starting out.

Follow if you want the career, but also want to build a life outside of it. 🤍
