The other day I overheard myself calling myself an activist. It was the best word I could find to describe that I have a passion for using my voice to motivate change wherever and whenever I can.

I’ve avoided that word for so long. It felt too political and too intense. I worried that claiming it would limit my career and make me lose out on opportunities by being “too much” for certain rooms.

Over time, I’ve realised that the fear came from a narrow idea of what activism looks like. Activism isn’t only about hunger-strikes. It’s also about showing up, speaking up, and using whatever platform we have to push for something better. It’s about refusing to stay comfortable when we see something that isn’t right.

I’ve learned that being an activist doesn’t mean rejecting my career. It means redefining how I use it. My professional skills, networks, and privileges are tools. And activism is how I choose to apply these tools.

Change needs all kinds of people, in all kinds of places. And we’re all just trying to figure out how, when and where.

Been on the go go lately making the most of my last month with a stable income whilst preparing for the next🧑‍🩰 I don’t have a clear cut plan, but I’m building my morning routine around dolly’s songs and I think that’s a great start taken in Copenhagen by @mariaastorgaard

Ever noticed how people say Denmark is equal while financial gaps keep growing?

Yeah. Us too.

Over lots of coffees and hours listening to my own voice, my friends and I are finally live with our new project: @ligebornlegerbedst

A project focused on sharing information about (financial) inequality in Denmark.

Denmark is known for low inequality and a strong welfare system. But that’s exactly why we need to talk about what’s changing and who gets left behind when wealth gaps continue to grow exponentially in the background.

Finally on the other side of a severe take-away and sleep deprived season. Catching up on the backlog of interesting (and in my view important) conversations that got little to no attention. And back to the social life that is my spirt. Thanks to my friends for not giving up on me yet again. May I soon catch up on rest and give you peace. by @mariaastorgaard

I den her episode taler vi om noget, mange går rundt med: frygten for ikke at have nok penge.

Selvom man sparer op, investerer og prøver at tage ansvar for sin økonomi, kan den stadig ligge der i baghovedet og påvirke både ens valg og ens ro. Hvor kommer den egentlig fra og hvad gør man ved den?

Sammen med Maria Storgaard taler vi også om noget, der også kan være tabubelagt, nemlig privilegier. For nogle har et økonomisk sikkerhedsnet, der giver frihed til at tage chancer og sige deres mening, mens andre ikke har den samme mulighed.

Det her afsnit handler ikke kun om budgetter og opsparing, men om alt det, der ligger bag: vores opvækst, vores erfaringer og den måde, penge fylder også mentalt.

Another commute-writing made it to the press. This time together with my friend Magnus. In short, I’ve potentially made more money sleeping in my apartment than I have working my days away these past couple of months. Which sounds comical and good for me, I suppose. But that’s until you realise what society that creates. Let’s maybe not.

Happy Sunday 🤍

These days im living life moving between countries and staying in offices until late. It doesn’t leave time for much else and it’s difficult to stay updated on all the things that I care so deeply about. So I’ve been trying to use my commute as time to read and write.

Behind the scenes of two people trying to manage a plan made for 5 people.

20+ hrs to get there. 2 days of workshops. 3 days of visiting 12 remote villages and nutrition gardens across two states. Traveling to a third state. 3 days of meetings, workshops at women’s school and social welfare centre. One day off to explore before travelling the same 20+ hours home.

NGO work is hard work. But damn it’s adventurous, inspiring and extremely educational. by @mariaastorgaard
