✨ Another exciting exhibition opening is just around the corner!

Join us for the opening of the exhibition "Maria Gerbaulet. Maria Gerbaulet. Gustav-Weidanz-Preis 2025", (Maria Gerbaulet. Gustav-Weidanz-Prize for Sculpture), tomorrow, October 15, at 6 pm at Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale) (@kunstmuseum_moritzburg)!

Selected by the jury from 97 applications from across Germany in 2025, Maria Gerbaulet (@mariagerbaulet) will officially receive the Gustav Weidanz Prize for Sculpture 2025 at tomorrow’s exhibition opening. In her sculptural practice, she explores materials such as clay, wax, wood dust, wool, and ash, questioning notions of stability and permanence while revealing vulnerability and fragility as powerful structures.

Awarded by Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle since 1975, the Gustav Weidanz Prize is one of Germany’s most important awards supporting emerging sculptors. The prize includes an exhibition at Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale).

The exhibition presents Gerbaulet’s new large-scale, site-specific installation "Rachen" (2026), exploring the tension between stability and instability through an interplay of materials and architecture.

We are delighted to celebrate Maria Gerbaulet and her artistic work and look forward to seeing you at the opening!
