Singing high notes has been a struggle for me as long as I can remember. I was even told by a former singing teacher of mine that I will never sing high notes, and that I should not even try. Well I have been trying to prove that teacher wrong ever since and it has been quite a battle with ups and downs, voice problems and so on. BUT, I realised that singing high doesn’t necessarily mean high and loud. I often think some singers (including me) are using too much force when they go up, so for the past few years I have been working on my so called “head” register and found power in that. Anyhow Sia’ s Chandelier is such a great song, that it sounds great in any form you sing it!

🏄🏼‍♀️ I’m definitely better at posing on a surfboard than actually surfing on it.

As some of you might know, I spent last fall (and a short time in January) in Lisbon, Portugal, as an exchange student. Besides learning at the receiving school, my goal was also to learn how to surf.

This sport turned out to be much more difficult than I expected, and my hopes of becoming a pro-surfer were crushed early on during my stay.

Nevertheless, I met amazing people, drank ridiculously good red wine (I don’t even like red wine), cried, laughed, and found a piece of myself that had been lost in the busy life of being an adult.

So tchau Portugal for now, we will for sure meet again!
