Sincerest thanks to fine artist Victoria Byers, in collaboration with Professor Rothrock and her BookArts students at @unccharlotte, who created mixed medium booklets, each based on a song from my upcoming full record. Some used (or artfully incinerated) wood, homemade paper, digital prints, gelee prints, crochet, natural foraged pieces, and added incredible depth to the literary themes of the project. Thank you Holly Greenough, Jordan Aldrich, Jordin Lopez, Kate Russell, Lily Parker, Lucy Yeates, Skylar Vink, and Teyana Hudson.

And of course my band, and all our friends and faculty members who helped with the install ♥️

Thank you all so much. 🪨🐚🌾 by @mariahvankleef

This Monday on Behind the Curtain at 6:30pmET, Charlotte-based interdisciplinary artist, musician, and folkloric storyteller Mariah Van Kleef joins us for a conversation and performances that go far beyond the surface and to discuss the latest record!
Raised on a Southern homestead by Dutch emigrant parents with Indonesian lineage, Mariah’s cross-cultural roots continue to influence the worlds she creates cinematic, deeply human, and rich with folklore.
And yes… there may even be a stripped-down performance of “Where the Forest Meets the Sea” and “Fix Me.”
Mariah takes us inside the world of INFAELITH, her creative process, and the heart behind Dream of the Lillitu, an immersive album and audiobook experience shaped by myth, memory, music, and storytelling.
Join us Monday at 6:30 PM for a very special episode of Behind the Curtain with Mariah Van Kleef.
Come curious. Stay for the story. 🖤
