I have seen the world’s most beautiful places
Still I feel, as If I’m a walking machine
Watching it all through a screen
There is nothing in between to me,
This might as well not be real 🌌🦋

I did this quick sketch inspired by one of my favorite Toulouse Lautrec paintings a while ago. It’s a bit “old”, but I decided to share it with the gram anyway 🤷‍♀️
Lately I have been thinking about how we are so flooded by information and content on social media, and I think it’s sad how this is affecting art as well (don’t even get me started on AI).
It feels like artists on social media channels are also supposed to keep up with this crazy rhythm of quick content production and consumption. Or create shareable content that will be relatable to people, even if it is not necessarily honest. We are turning into some kind of “art influencers” and even have to compete with machines.
For me this defeats the very purpose of art, or at least why I enjoy creating. I have always done it for myself and not for the other people, even if I share some of it here. I am hoping this won’t get completely lost in the way ♥️

Looking for that silver lining 🌧️🌈
I really liked sketching on „checkered paper” for this one, it reminded me of all the doodles I used to draw in my notebook when I was bored in class 🙃

A while ago I had the chance to go whale watching and was lucky enough to see lots of humpback whales swimming in freedom 🐋🌊 It really was the coolest thing ever, so I guess I got inspired 💙 #whale #humpbackwhale #blue #digitalart #procreate #illustration #digitalillustration by @mariam.illustration
