Honoured to have been invited by His Excellency @mmbensaid , Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication @mjccgov , to witness the launch of the International Film Production City in Ouarzazate alongside my partner @jimmy.abounouom , @sanaelkilali and our fellow producers—an inspiring initiative that reinforces Morocco’s position as a global destination for film and audiovisual production. It was a privilege to be part of this important milestone for Moroccan cinema and to witness the continued vision for the future of the industry. @dunefilmsofficial @jacarandastudiosmarrakech taken in Ouarzazate by @mariam.lee

A little late to the feed, but some moments deserve to be shared anyway.

Cannes was filled with inspiring conversations, meaningful reunions, and exciting opportunities. Every edition reminds me how powerful cinema is in bringing people together.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone I had the pleasure of spending time with—whether we shared a coffee, a meeting, a meal, or simply a conversation. Your generosity, support, and company made this trip truly special. taken in Cannes, France by @mariam.lee

Eleven years ago, I directed my very first short film, in fact, the only film I’ve ever directed. It was my first step behind the camera, my first attempt at telling a story. But I never found the courage to share it. I held onto it all these years, driven by a sense of perfectionism, never feeling like it was good enough.

Until now.

With Hotel de la paix being out IN theaters, it feels like the right moment to come full circle and finally let it go, and share it with you.

I want to thank everyone who made this film possible. The incredible cast, the tireless crew, and the entire production team, who believed in me then and continue to believe in me now.

And above all, a heartfelt thank you to my parents. To my mother, who was the production designer on this project and gave the film its timeless aesthetic. She not only shaped its visual world, but taught me to see beauty in composition, in colors, and in every frame.

And to my father, a producer whose vision, discipline, and belief in storytelling have shaped so much of my journey. He always knew how to guide me, sometimes without words, by trusting me and placing me in front of challenges that helped me grow.

It’s imperfect, but it’s sincere and it’s where it all began.

I hope you enjoy it. Link in bio. taken in Ouarzazate, Morocco by @mariam.lee

The premiere of Hotel de la Paix was truly magical! ✨ I want to thank our incredible cast and crew for their dedication and talent, my partners, my cousin @elkilali.s , and my father @jimmy.abounouom for believing in this project from day one. Your trust and support made this journey possible.

A special thank you to @cinemathequemarocaine and @ccm_maroc for hosting us and being part of this celebration, and to @maisonseyad for the amazing catering that made the evening so enjoyable. And of course, a huge thanks to @mkhouna and his team at @filmeventconsulting who made his first film distribution vision come to life and trusted us on our first fully produced film — your support means the world.

And finally, thank you to everyone who came to share this special evening with us. Your presence made it unforgettable, and we are so grateful to have celebrated this moment with you. ❤️ taken in Morocco - المغرب by @mariam.lee
