Ten books, one island, and not one of them set anywhere but Ireland.

We’re strict about that. A book earns its place only if the story actually happens on ground you can stand on. Sligo’s lakes. A Clare village in 1958. A Georgian square in Dublin. The Limerick lanes. A train north to Belfast.

Read a few before you go and the country arrives differently. You know the light, the weather, the shape of a town. You’ve been there already, in the best way.

Save this for the trip you’re dreaming about, and tell us which one you’re starting with. DM me for the list. by @marian_keyes

‘I’m a recovering alcoholic - now I’m lucky enough to be in recovery’

Celebrated author @marian_keyes joined @bbcnuala in the Woman’s Hour studio to talk about The Walsh Sisters, a new drama series inspired by her bestselling novels.

The series follows a family of five sisters as they navigate heartbreak, grief, addiction, and parenthood.

Speaking about the show, Marian reflected on her own experiences with addiction - including how watching the drama brought back memories of what life was like when she was struggling, and what it took to overcome it.

Also on the programme was screenwriter, author, and actor @stefaniepreissner to discuss the series, available to watch on BBC iPlayer and BBC One 📺

For more information about addiction and links to support, head to the BBC Action Line website.

Listen to the full discussion on @bbcsounds - it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 23 February 🎧

That's a wrap 🎬

Just wrapped on season 1 of Netflix's adaptation of Marian Keyes best selling novel Grown Ups.

The past 6 months have been such a rollercoaster and I have loved every minute of it. I am so grateful to everyone who was involved, such an incredible cast and crew. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring Tilly to life. A special thank you to our incredible showrunner and writer Samantha Strauss who is bringing Marian's book to the screen in such a special and elegant way. Each script has so much thought and detail in it and honestly it's going to be an incredible TV series especially if you love the book as much as I do. ❤️

Also a massive thank you to all the crew at @netflixuk
@see_saw_films
@pickingscabsproductions

You all made the job so enjoyable and gave unbelievable support throughout.
Especially Liz, Andy & Helen.

And the one person and her fantastic crew that made all of this happen for me the amazing

After SIX months, we are WRAPPED 🎥 on Grown Ups - a new 8 hour Netflix drama based on the fantastic @marian_keyes novel of the same name.
All filmed in Ireland with backdrops as stunning as the cast. 🇮🇪 What a cast! New comers, old comers, and mid summers. I feel very lucky to be in it.
And oh my god this crew, thank you so much to our excellent teams behind the scenes , the kindness and funniness of everyone who kept me laughing, especially when I wanted to be crying leaving my wee bubba at home for the long filming hours. BUT she learned to cook, clean, skin a fish with a sharp blade and light fires in the garden all by herself.

We don’t know an airing date yet, but I know it’ll be out all over the world & you are gonna love it. taken in Dublin, Ireland by @marian_keyes
