DESIGN

When you enter the studio, the sense of smell is the first to be tantalised by woody notes. Then comes the sense of sight. Industrial machinery, wooden planks in unexpected shapes and shades, and above all a stool standing on one of the workbenches. Its seat is curved, with intricate, curving patterns inlaid into it. This is the latest piece created by @marie.judth . Perhaps the piece that best represents her creative process. Combining industrial tools with raw materials, she creates objects from non-standardised wood, whose species, shapes and unique characteristics guide her designs. A constraint that has become a source for creative exploration. Meet the designer.

DESIGN

Luck Mirror (in progress) will be part of the Design Everything x Aram: With Limitations exhibition in London @designeverything_org @aramgalleryldn

"With Limitations explores the constraints that shape contemporary design practice, from space and budget to time, materials and access to equipment. Rather than seeing limitations as a barrier, the exhibition considers how they can become a catalyst for creativity, resourcefulness and new ways of making."

Sept 11th - Oct 10th at Aram Gallery
