As the acid sound of the 90s progressed, it evolved into harder, darker and more industrial sounds, influencing techno, hardcore and trance, with artists and labels pushing the 303 into increasingly twisted territory. Maddix has the sound echoed across his medium and this track is a giant. by @marieldmusic

Here's some Friday musings... The DJ Top 100 - where are all the new talent, where are the legends, who makes this list and who is it for. If you want me to do a follow up and share my views on any specifics just drop it in the comments, I can talk about this one all day but I can only do a 3 minute video 👊

Do you agree with David Guetta still being number 1? Who is missing? Who absolutely should not be on this list?

Hope to be #97 next year by @marieldmusic

Well I'm tired of dancing, doing random unrelated stuff just to say, "here's my new track, do you like it?" to no avail?

Well do ya, do ya like it? by @marieldmusic

TDA is an underground acid techno DJ based in Birmingham and had the pleasure of listening to his sets for some time, his transition to production hits no less harder than his sets and this belter of a track is just perfect for late night underground mixes when the mood goes a little bit naughty. by @marieldmusic

Øccult really does have an energy unmatched. A work ethic that brings so many new releases to the techno crowd and each one telling a different story. I absolutely adore this raw driving techno that helps navigate a set from one world into another while a hypnotic audience follows. by @marieldmusic

The Prodigy and Dubstep go hard and no harder than anything by Wraz, an absolute 🐐 of the game. It's hard to call this a mash up as it's just 2 buttons with the lyrics from Invaders Must Die but always adds a little 🔥 to a heater. by @marieldmusic

Dudley has no viable nightlife. and certainly not a techno/hard dance scene. Birmingham is the closest with Wolverhampton being strictly no go zone if you like the harder side of dance. by @marieldmusic

Common misconception of DJ is that it's all about performance. It's one thing I don't have capacity for but instead it's all about tune selection for me and no set is complete without slipping in this banger from Raredub. by @marieldmusic

Rob Zombie will always have a hold over me so I always dig into the remix albums. Mondo Sex Head was a killer album and this dubstep version from Document One is next level. by @marieldmusic
