last night around 11pm my daddy went to be with Jesus. after a 10 year journey with cancer that spread to multiple parts of his body, he is now with our sweet Father in Heaven. he suffered for a long time & now he doesn’t have to anymore. he loved music, his family, God, cooking, & making silly jokes. his faith in God was awe inspiring & made me a better woman and a better daughter. i wouldn’t be who i am today without the fervent prayers my dad prayed daily over my life. he introduced Christ to me & taught me how to know Him and make Him known unashamedly. he taught me how to fight, how to pray & how to love even when it was hard.

his life touched many, inspired lots & blessed all. he walked thru hell in different seasons of life but he never gave up & continued to trust God even when it was foggy. i will forever be grateful for who he was to me. he will live on in my heart & i will do everything to make him proud. he wrote me a letter a few years back and some of the words stuck with me.. “you are courageous, you are beautiful, you are a survivor— so here you go to follow your life path and take the fork in the road that JESUS lays out for you. you’ll have many roads to explore, continue to grow, continue to serve, continue to love and be the best child of God you can be”

i will dad, for you. i’m always by your side & i will miss you everyday & i know that you will be with me forever. i’m eternally grateful that you were my earthly father. i love you. i know you are playing piano up in heaven right now, save me a seat next to you— i’ll see you again one day daddy. i love you forever. even tho the healing looks different, we know Gods plan is perfect & you fought til your very last breath💌 thank you for EVERYTHING you did for me. always in my heart.

grief🤍

It’s not something that’s easy to talk about but I’d love to create a little space on the internet for it. And an even bigger one in person. talking about grief shouldn’t be scary or come with the feeling of being a burden. your experience matters. I wanted to share my thoughts a year later. Take the time to listen if you can.

I miss my dad every moment but my life did not end the day he went to Heaven. I thought it would. I would beg God to take me too. But I know now, that was not in his plan and it’s not right now either. I am thankful for life & for my dad. He lived a beautiful life & I will live a beautiful one in honor of him.

He is always missed and will always be in my heart. If you’re grieving today, it’s okay. It’s not the end. I promise🫶🏼🥺💐

always growing, always trusting, always loving. thank you Jesus for a beautiful, abundant life. thank you for the trials, thank you for the lessons, for the pain, the grief, thank you for the moments that shaped me & for instilling in me ways to process my emotions in a holy way. You are so good Lord. 🩷🌷⭐️🤍
