A meaningful and thought-provoking visit to see Tony Albert’s “Not a Souvenir” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Some exhibitions stay with you long after you leave, and this was one of them. Powerful, stunning and moving artworks that invited me to pause, reflect and think more deeply about our history, identity and the stories that deserve to be understood.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the MCA stands, and I pay my deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

There’s something pretty special about knowing a piece of your heart has found a new home. This artwork was created with love, and it makes me so happy to know it’s heading off to be part of someone else’s story.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful organisers and all the volunteers who give their time, energy and passion to make this show happen.

And to my lovely new collectors, thank you for choosing my work and giving it a place in your home. It really does mean the world to me.

Feeling very grateful ☺️

It’s that time of year again, the Scarborough Art Show in October is just around the corner. Honestly, where does all the time go?

This sweet little piece, “Sunsets at Sandon”, captures my favourite swimming spot at my home break, Sandon Point. It’s a reflection on the passing of time, showing the ebbs and flows of the tides captured beneath the warmth of the setting sun. I’ve used sand from the actual beach mixed into the paint to bring the different textures, patterns and layers of the sandy shores to life. And the colours… well, aren’t they just like delicious scoops of ice cream devoured at the end of a perfect day at the beach.
