Three little German Christmas village shadowboxes I made for gifts. I have so much fun placing the vintage Erzgebirge putz houses in a variety of boxes and containers. The center scene is in a 4×4 repurposed shadowbox frame, while the others are tiny 3.5×4 cigarillo boxes with hinged lids. Following the tutorial from @craftylumberjacks, I made three little corn husk kitchen witches to add interest to the SPOOKY garland in my kitchen windows. I apologize for the window lighting...there's never a nice gloomy day when you need it! The guys have also made some adorable corn husk bats that I want to try next. Finally! I haven't crafted for several months, but it's been two weeks since we returned from Scotland, and I finally made something! This peaceful German Christmas village is crafted from an antique British toffee tin and vintage German putz houses. The lid of the toffee tin, with its illustration of wonderful old cottages, was perfect for the backdrop, and I still had a roll of cobblestones for the market square. The tin is about 4" by "6. The third photo is my cute great-granddaughter dancing at the Idaho Falls Oktoberfest in the dirndl I bought her in Germany last December. 🎄🎄🎄#christmas2026 #putzhouses #zettasaprons #thingsimake by @marieutah

Our most recent adventure in the misty Highlands and Islands of Scotland. As usual, I couldn't resist "improving" one of my favorite photos with Chatgpt. I have been MIA since the beginning of summer. It was a crazy few months. George was in Phoenix helping our oldest daughter after a horrible broken ankle that left her stranded on Catalina Island on the Fourth of July weekend.

Once he got her safely home, he stayed with her through two surgeries and weeks of recovery. He kept busy by doing repairs and improvements to her condo. It was a lonely summer for me. Usually, I would use the time to be creative, but my heart wasn't in it. Fortunately, he came home in time for our trip to Scotland. I am so grateful for this wonderful man and have vowed never to take him for granted. 💕💕💕 by @marieutah

I haven't crafted as much since we started traveling. Although new countries and landscapes can be inspirations for creativity. Trying to get back into the habit can be slow, so I finished up a little harbor scene I started last year. Using an old sardine can from my stash, I built a little dock on the bay. The houses are less than 2" tall. I'm a bit out of practice on the houses, but I am pretty happy how it turned out. Switching my front porch summer theme from Southwestern to a cheerful garden of colorful gnomes and mushrooms! I chose a primary color scheme...lots of reds, yellows, and blues!. Happy happy!! We were invited into the cozy Hobbit Hole of the Proudfoot Family. So many cozy rooms, nooks, and crannies! Everything for the comfort of the family! This simple little gate leads to a land of enchantment. Enjoy taking a stroll through the pastoral lanes of Hobbiton. Our Hobbity home is just a stones throw from Bag End, the home of our most prominent resident. Be sure to stop at Number Three Bagshot Row, the home of the Hero of the Story, Samwise Gamgee. He's my favorite Hobbit! The gate at Bag End still warns of "No Admittance Except on Party Business." The Party Tree is waiting to celebrate Bilbo's Eleventy-First Birthday! Be sure to relax with a pint at the Green Dragon! Yes, Pippin, it comes in Pints! Next stop will be a tour of the home of the Proudfoot Family. 🌻🌺⚘️🌷 taken in Hobbiton, the Shire by @marieutah
