Marie Wils - Ensemble

From San Francisco to stages across Europe, Marie has built an international career in tap dance. She has performed at the Grand Palais in Paris, on national television, and with companies including The Hot Shoe Sugars, The Satin Dollz, and Tap Tales Barcelona. With a background in music, cinema, and dance, she brings elegance, musicality, and precision to every performance.

May 8th ✨

One year ago today was the premiere of STEPPIN’ OUT, the very first show co-produced by The Hot Shoe Sugars. 💛🥳

Months of rehearsals, laughter, music sheets, frustration, trust, broken foot, doubts, tears, growth and unforgettable memories!

A year later, we are still learning from it and taking it all in 💕

5 things creating your own tap show actually teaches you 👞✨

1. You will never feel 100% ready for the opportunities that come your way. Take them anyway… that’s where the magic happens.
2. Social media helps. Like, a lot. It’s part of the work whether you like it or not.
3. Growth can be slow. But consistency always shows up for you in the end - keep going, even in the quiet months.
4. If things aren’t running smoothly offstage… it will show onstage. Prioritise your people!
5. Not all criticism deserves your attention.
Some voices help you grow, others just add noise. Learn the difference.

At the end of the day, building something of your own will test you, stretch you, and surprise you. But if you stick with it… you don’t just become a better dancer, you become someone who knows how to create with trust, and keep going no matter what!
