message from marigolden: wild to say that my first ever vinyl pressing & debut EP is available to pre-order !!! right now !!! what in the world! 🥹

“Long Game EP” will officially be released on 20th November (so soon!) & if you pre-order the vinyl you’ll get an early download of one of my favourite unreleased tracks to whet your whistle.

i’ve aimed to keep the price affordable knowing we’re all feeling the pinch & big thanks to @holidayrecords for such a special pressing! by @marigoldenau

message from marigolden: the people who made it, played it & conveyed it 🌞

I have heaps to tell you! but it didn’t feel right to rush into all that before saying a proper thank you to the amazing crew of humans who brought ‘long game’ (the single) to life.

i’m short on words at the moment, but please just know how deeply grateful i am to each & every single one of you.

also, my data sources were a bit glitchy this time round so if i’ve missed you here, feel free to shoot me an email to say hello! xx

also also, while i’m here, playing a last minute gig this saturday arvo for folk at @thetotehotel, come! x by @marigoldenau

🚨LINE-UP CHANGE🚨
Unfortunately our friend @flora_andtheband can’t make it to the gig this Saturday but we are so lucky to have @marigoldenau jump on!

Scroll along to find out a little more about who’s playing >>>>

3:00pm - marigolden @marigoldenau
marigolden makes music for people who are learning to drop their masks and listen to their instincts.
Raised in Lutruwita/Tasmania and now based in Naarm/Melbourne, marigolden is an indie/folk/rock artist writing songs about self-belief, longevity and trusting your gut.

4:00pm - JIB @jib__music
Releasing his first EP in early 2026, jib has emerged onto the naarm folk scene weaving bossa nova and alternative grooves into folky tunes.
Dance (or cry) along as jib floats between fun melodies and powerful emotional storytelling.

5:00pm - Thom Johnston @thomwmjohnston
Imagine if Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen raised a child in Geelong. With an eye for contemporary style but roots in the classics, singer-songwriter Thom Johnston is just that, a voice for young people figuring themselves out, with the skill of making the ordinary worth documenting.

All involved acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we get to share our stories and music on, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. by @marigoldenau

messsage from marigolden: these are the names behind the numbers. the sweethearts behind the stats. the human beings on the other side of the screen (& sometimes the other side of the world!) who thought Great Ocean Road was worth a listen.

it’s so easy to get caught up in the music machine, but at the end of the day, this is what I choose to see. there are more names than I could possibly capture here & some I’ll probably never know! but I want to share my gratitude with each & every person who has listened to Great Ocean Road. thank you 💙

the first week of Great Ocean Road was such a rush. the first month, I soaked it all in. & in the past 6 weeks I’ve been preparing for for what’s next. xx

message from marigolden: surprise! great ocean road (out today) is actually the first track from my debut EP which will be out mid-2026 🌊

a few weeks ago I shared that I’m changing the way I use social media, so I sat down with @jacob__mccormack to explain why & how it came about through the process of creating my debut EP. he was kind enough to put our chat into writing which @beatmagazine was then kind enough to share. some of my favourite bits are above, but if you’d like to read the whole thing you can head to my bio where you’ll also find:

- where to listen to ‘great ocean road’
- how to join my mailing list (where I’ll be sharing more throughout the release)
- & a little home-video i made of a recent roadtrip down the one-and-only Great Ocean Road.

thank you always for your support. debut EP here we come!! xx by @marigoldenau

message from marigolden - some things to know:

• last week, we had a picnic & it was delicate & scary & sweet & precious. i bought an excess of fruit & veg & am still eating it to this day. thank you to the gentle souls who used their petrol budget to come & sit with me.
• in one week, I’ll have a new song out. whoa.
• in two weeks, we’re supporting champs @adam_newling on his “Foxtrap” tour alongside living legend @rubymaemusic . tickets in bio. full band set.
• in three weeks, I’m visiting a friend. that’s more of a private thing though, tbh.

i can’t wait to do more things like the picnic. i think we’re gonna be doing a lot of growing together this year, you & me.

okay, take your time & go gently & see you when I see you xx by @marigoldenau

message from marigolden: tomorrow I will be in the park playing some songs, sharing some stories & updating you on what’s coming up. if you are around, come join! it looks like the weather will be in our favour 🌼 rsvp via link in bio xx

p.s. thank you so much to everyone who reached out with support after my last post. it’s so heartwarming to know that we are all riding this wave together. by @marigoldenau

“because I love the songs & I love the people I made them with.” that’s what I said when Charlotte asked me if I still wanted to do this & why. as I said the words, I realised just how true they were. that’s the moment I felt the flint catch in my chest. a spark that has been leading the way ever since. a little flame spotlighting what’s important & letting everything else rest in the shadows.

you see, I’m trying something new. & I’m a little nervous about it. from now on, you’ll still get marigolden updates here, but I won’t be on the other side of the screen. I’ll be entrusting a friend to post for me so I can focus on the other places where I hope you’ll come & find me. i might poke my head in here once in a while to keep up with you, but mostly I’ll be playing live shows, hosting catch ups in the park when I can’t be bothered organising a venue, writing stories for your inboxes, asking you to come & tell my what my lyrics bring up for you, maybe even sending you letters in the post if you like? I’m trusting we’ll figure it out as we go.

ofc, my overactive brain is filled with what ifs. what if people forget me? what if no-one hears my songs? what if no-one comes to the shows? but there was a bigger what if I had to grapple with. what if I kept going the way I was & it led me to giving up music altogether? when I think of it like that… the other what ifs don’t seem so scary.

besides... what if this is the best thing I’ve ever done?

soon, I’ll use my little flame to shed some more light on what’s to come. but for now, I’d just like to ask you to keep an eye out for me? like I said, i’m a little nervous about this. but every coin has two sides & on the other side of this one is excitement. a deeply contented excitement that only comes from moving in a direction that feels very, very right. i hope you’ll join me xx

p.s. if you want to chat more, pls email me. i would literally love that 🌼

p.p.s oh no, i’m speaking rhyme! by @marigoldenau
