🖤 The ultimate dark romance reading list! ⛓️

Finally sat down to make this - I’ve been meaning to for a while now!😄

I’m sure I’m missing a few books, so I’ll probably update this post in the future. These are all the ones I’ve read and can personally recommend!

Keep in mind that every reader’s idea of “light” to “dark” is different and this ranking is based on my personal preferences.

All of these are dark romance books, so please check the trigger warnings before diving in - especially if you’re new to the genre.

And just a heads-up: the “pitch black” books are extremely dark, so don’t take those warnings lightly.

💣 What dark romance book I should add to this list?

Please save & share - it helps a lot! 💫 taken in BOOKSTA by @marijaunkind

You say you don’t like smut. We say… maybe you just haven’t read the right smut yet 🤭🌶️ So naturally, we came prepared with recommendations.

Consider this an intervention. Or an initiation. Your choice 🖤

What book would you use to convert a non-smut reader?👀

Have you read this beauty? Terror at the Gates by @authorscarlettstclair from @thebookishbox ♥️

One of those books that just stays with you. Forever in my head and heart 🖤 Can’t recommend it enough - 5 star read and one of my all time favourites!

Patiently waiting for that second book… 😩

You know that feeling when you finish a book and immediately wish you could wipe your memory just to experience it all over again?♥️

These are mine - the dark romances (and romantasy) that had me obsessed, unwell and completely consumed…

🕯️What’s ONE book you’d sell your soul to read for the first time again?

Life has been a little too loud lately, so naturally I’ve been doing what I do best - disappearing into fictional worlds 🖤📚

Sometimes you don’t need a productive coping mechanism. Sometimes you need vampires, witches, monsters and fictional men with questionable morals 😂

Books mentioned:
📖 Baby Widow by @sydneytaylorauthor
📖 A Game of Cat and Witch by @rubycanread
📖 Midnight Message by @avina.stgraves
📖 Loving a Vampire is Total Chaos by @aurahayesauthor
📖 Half City by @kategoldenauthor

4 books in August 📚 Not my biggest reading month, but I’m counting every single one.

Life has been a lot lately and sometimes getting through the day feels like enough of an accomplishment. So yeah, only 4 books - but I still found little pieces of other worlds to escape into and that counts 🖤

Here’s to reading at our own pace and surviving the chapters that don’t have a happy ending yet 🥀📖

POV: you finally get the date with your fictional man… and then remember he’s fictional 💀📚

Azriel 🤝 Zade ruining our standards and raising our expectations.

Your turn: who are you going on a date with?😏📖

What if I told you there’s a little town shrouded in secrets? A place where something feels… off. You can’t quite put your finger on it, but that feeling in your gut tells you something isn’t right.

And at the centre of it all? A tattooed preacher with a sinful smile.

Interested? I thought so 😏

Step into the sweltering heat of Louisiana, where secrets run deep, the characters are anything but ordinary, the spice is 🔥 and the story slowly unravels into something you won’t see coming.

One word: blasphemous. And I loved them!

Guilty as charged! 🙋🏻‍♀️
🚩 We all have that one fictional red flag we’d defend with our whole chest.

Mine? Morally grey, obsessive and completely unhinged 😮‍💨

What’s your favorite fictional red flag? Be honest 👀
