🚨 It’s called a bootcamp for a reason 🏋‍♂️ For our September’s AI PM Bootcamp cohort, I’m assigning an engineer to every single team — so you don’t just design a capstone project, you *actually* launch it.

We joined forces with a brand new AI no-code prototyping tool that outputs full front-ends and apps (UI included). With an engineer on your team’s side, your idea goes from concept → real, functioning product. We’ve trained 20k individuals and have 4 spots left for September.

‼️ And on Demo Day, you’ll pitch not only to AI leaders, but also to a bay area Entrepreneur-in-Residence scout keeping an eye out for standout builders.

THRILLED to announce that my book, “Building AI-powered Products: the essential AI & GenAI Product Management”, is finally here—published by O’Reilly! A unique guide to PMs of ALL levels, especially execs as there is a deep dive in AI strategy & Leadership, based on my learnings from 12 years at Google and Meta.

For 10+ years, I’ve been advocating for AI Product Management. What once was a niche domain has now become essential: 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗠𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗠𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. O’Reilly means so much to me as it’s their books that got me into tech in the first place.

I aim to see this curriculum integrated into universities worldwide and empower teams to launch successful AI products. Help spread the word with your universities—share this post, grab your copy, and advocate for this role.

✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁?
It has case studies from AI/GenAI products you use every day, frameworks, a ton of AI tools you may want to experiment with, discusses building AI agents, AI leadership and AI strategy. I taught this material to 10k professionals over the years and it has all my insights as to how execs can bridge the gap between niche AI/GenAI and user needs.

We are preparing a book launch event in April in the Bay Area where we can give you a copy and I can sign it for you! If you’d like to receive more info comment on my linkedin post and someone will reach out.

Thank you for your support, I can’t wait to see what people think!

p.s. this is the material I teach as part of my #1 AI Product Bootcamp so it’s the perfect companion. We kick off the new cohort next week - join me 😊 by @marilynika

That’s officially my last talk of conference season.

After running so many AI workshops for different types of audiences: founders, product teams, enterprise teams, business leaders and students, here’s what I observed while on stage:

1. People are not as AI-enabled as I thought. I’ve been assuming people use certain tools or know the references I’m making. That’s not always true, even here in the Bay Area.

2. Some people don’t want to spend time setting things up. Muse and Grok have unlocked a lot for this group and even expanded that particular audience, and I’m here for it.

3. More traditional companies are entering the room and I think we’re finally (slowly) moving away from the “we’ve always done it this way” mindset.

4. Anxiety is still in the room and sadly I think it’s here to stay.

My two cents on that last point is that it’s your choice whether AI replaces you as a professional or enhances you. Experiment, share, learn, break, just don’t sit idle. @techcrunch by @marilynika

How do I keep up with AI when the tools change every week?

I block two hours on my calendar every week. The event is literally called “Marily plays with AI.” I try a new tool, build something small, see where it breaks, and share what I learned. I recorded this video 1 year ago and it’s still the best advice I could give you.

That time is non-negotiable. Reading about every new launch won’t teach me as much as sitting down and trying to make something work.

PMs are becoming AI builders. Put the time on your calendar and start building.

Was hanging out with the PM behind Visual Intelligence and nutrition at Apple so obviously we had to test the new iPhone food nutrition feature 😂

Point camera at food → nutrition breakdown.

Hybrid day with my AI Builder Fellows. Half in the room and half on Zoom.

Success metric: a Zoom Fellow interrupts me before anyone in the room does.

I am on WIRED! I’ve read WIRED for about 15 years, so this one lands a little differently and this is the second ever edition of WIRED Greece.

My article is about the new generation of AI Builders we are all experiencing. It starts with my AI PM journey starting in 2013 before it was really a thing as when I first joined Google to work on speech and AI was still a quiet backend layer. The piece ends with the rise of the AI Builder and the paradox that building got easier but not simpler.

When anyone can ship a demo almost immediately, the cost of production drops and the value of our taste and judgment goes up. AI can give us options but not tell us what matters. So the hard question that was “can we build this?” is really “for whom, what problem, and what parts (if any) should stay human?”. Thank you, WIRED Greece for interviewing me and giving me an opportunity to discuss the rise of the AI builder and how to get started.

On lecture 3 of my Stanford course we unpacked Evals. We talked about why Evals literacy for PMs is a must because some folks hadn’t realized why or how Evals even applied to them. Traditional software is deterministic so if you click X, Y always happens. AI is probabilistic so if you prompt X, Y happens with Z confidence. PMs *must* learn Evals Literacy, how to curate test sets, evaluate precision/recall and set strict quality thresholds instead of just “vibe-checking” the output. We added a 1-day Evals for PMs workshop as part of my fellowship line-up led by a Dir. of Data Science, AND my Stanford in-person course: aiproduct.com by @marilynika

Tomorrow is launch day.

It all started with a cold message to one of the *legends* of product management.

I wasn’t sure they’d even reply but they did.

And now I’m waking up at 5 a.m. in Greece, before anyone else is awake, putting this together.

What we’re announcing tomorrow as part of my AI Product Academy is something I’m incredibly proud of.

See you tomorrow at aiproduct.com 👀 by @marilynika
