from this indie animator to all my followers...THANK YOU for your support in spreading the word and/or donating to my film's kickstarter! although i will not receive any funding if i do not hit my goal, at almost 90% funded, i am feeling confident that we'll make it!

at this stage, any donation makes a difference. and very soon i will be doing another random selection from the pool of ALL backers, so if you have a dollar to spare to support independent filmmaking AND you want a chance to be drawn as a background character in the film, link is in bio!

thanks and happy holidays, everyone! by @marimator

the latest spongebob 360 which i directed and painted the background for has just launched on spongebob's youtube channel! go join the party in the pineapple in all its (hand drawn entirely in 2D!!!) 360 glory!

i am seeing some folks think we just "pasted old animation on a single background", so i wanted to be clear that our team put enormous effort into re-animating every single scene (including whatever any character is doing off camera in the show). the layout they worked on was the equirectangular grid you see in the 2nd-5th slides, facing all four directions at once and requiring some serious knowledge of perspective. if the animation looks like the original, it's because we did our jobs, but just because something looks "easy" doesn't mean it is!

equirectangular background painted in photoshop.

huge thanks to @cartuna for having me on board!
and an even huger shoutout to those who animated, cleaned up and composited this project (i am sorry, i don't have everyone's IG info!):

they hit it out of the park and i am so proud of how it all came together! by @marimator
