Behind the scenes & final shots of ‘Courage’ Film

Words from Cinematographer @mariocontini - “A few years ago when we all started to second guess our career choices in a film industry hurting deeply from the repercussions of a global pandemic, unfair labor and increasing uncertainty, I needed to find the strength to carry-on. So I made a vow to myself to work on more meaningful projects with inspiring people that have a positive message to share with audiences, especially our youth! Now, here’s a powerful story about identity and resilience!

Written, directed and produced by my amigo and first-time filmmaker @ericmicha3l @couragethefilm tells the story of a young Native American kid struggling with self-confidence and societal expectations who finds transformation through his own traditions and the beautiful art of hoop dance! What’s even more amazing, is that it’s inspired by a true story! 💫

I’m still humbled by the talent on screen! Mateo and @terrygoedel are actually some of the world’s top hoop dancers! Their performances had us all like, “what the…how did you…?” @cara.jade.myers , @pjvegas and @chefpyet were aces! Mad respect to everyone. Of course, thank you to my amazing crew for their dedication to this project and for coming together as a unit! And mucho thanks to @panavisionofficial for supporting new filmmakers and blessing us with the tools to bring this vision to life! We shot Courage on @reddigitalcinema V Raptor [X] cameras with PVs rehoused Kowa sphericals and Vintage 65 lenses.”

My grandpa loved riding his Honda lawnmower around the yard in Ohio. He was a man of good taste :p When my dad moved to California, he bought a 1979 Cb360 and rode it to Fillmore from TO everyday through Grimes Canyon. Last time I was on a CB I had to be like 10 years old or younger, and I always wanted to again. Now I own 3 Hondas, but none of them are motorcycles! Thank you @alexkornreich for the opportunity to take her out on the tarmac! 🙌 🪽 🇺🇸 🇮🇹 🇯🇵

ps: that photo is of my sisters ;-)
