One year ago, I made my first short film. The Mystery of Eve.🧜‍♀️
Now I’m back in my attic studio, looking through everything I made while getting the space ready for the next chapter. Over on my YT channel I have a new vlog sharing my latest studio refresh. Prepare yourself! My studio is an archive of my entire crazy creative life. 🫣 It’s a little bit of a look back, and a lot of looking forward. I’d love to see you over there!

Hi friend! Happy Fall! I have a new cozy vlog over on my YouTube channel. I’m sharing another behind the scenes peek into the enchanted forest I’m creating for Alchemy- A Fairytale 🧚🏼‍♀️💚🗝️💫 I’m also sharing my thoughts on the changing of the season - turning inward and letting go of what we no longer need to carry with a funny story about pumpkins and Trader Joe’s. There’s a little bit of my Halloween home decorations in there too! I’d love to have you join me on this magical journey over on the tube. 🍁💫🍁

I’m Making A Fairytale - We Built A Home That Inspired A Magical Story 💚🗝️💫 New Vlog on YouTube

When we built our home over 20 years ago, I had no idea I would be so inspired by the house and its surroundings, to write a fairytale novel that I’m now making into a stop motion film. In this episode of Creating Alchemy, I share the real trees, animals, landscape and memories that inspired my story, while I begin building the enchanted woods for the film using paper mache, needle felting and traditional handmade techniques. This is the story behind the story, and a behind-the-scenes look at how I’m bringing Alchemy to life.

If you’re enchanted by miniature worlds, magical storytelling, whimsical homes, slow living, fairy tales, and handmade worlds that blur the line between imagination and reality,
I’d love to have you join me as we build this fairytale together, one tiny piece at a time. :)

I’m VERY EXCITED to be introducing New Music “Cassandra’s Theme” played throughout the video created by: Juliana Chahayed

Hello friend! I have a new Vlog up on my YouTube channel! Just a quick recap of the past week, set building, finally getting my puppets to stand, and traveling to LA. My visit to LA had me pondering the importance of play and magic in creating art. I share a few thoughts on that as well. 💫

I made 2 versions of Theater “shell” Lights. Which one do you like better? The painted ones or the needle felted ones?

I’m embarking on a big project, building a Theater and all the Characters for my new Stop-motion Film.

In my new series on YouTube - Creating Alchemy, I’m sharing how I transformed this shoe box into a paper mache theater. Look closely and you will see Tiny Dancer staring back at you! 😳 If you enjoy behind the scenes stop-motion filmmaking, I’d love to have you join me on this fantastical adventure!

Also!!!! I’m VERY EXCITED to be introducing New Music “Shadow’s Theme” played throughout the video created by: Juliana Chahayed @julianachahayed

More than a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking, this is an invitation into a life inspired by fairytale: one where art, home, nature, and everyday moments all become part of the same magical world. #stopmotion #fairytale #cozyvlog by @marirdesign

Here’s your ticket to join me as we build this fairytale together, one tiny piece at a time. 💚🗝️💫🍄🦄🧚🏼‍♀️🐈‍⬛🎥🎼
The very first long form episode of my journey creating a handmade stop motion fairytale is now live on my YouTube channel!

This new series follows the making of my stop-motion film, inspired by my fairytale novel, Alchemy, where every tiny theater, weathered bench, painted prop, and miniature world becomes part of a much larger story. More than a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking, this is an invitation into a life inspired by fairytale: one where art, home, nature, and everyday moments all become part of the same magical world.

ALSO - I’m VERY EXCITED to be introducing New Music “Shadow’s Theme” played throughout the video created by: Juliana Chahayed
So much more about this magical collaboration coming soon! Until then, you can follow her here: @julianachahayed

So if you’re enchanted by miniature worlds, magical storytelling, whimsical homes, slow living, cottage gardens, fairy tales, and handmade worlds that blur the line between imagination and reality, my new Vlog series is for you - and me - us - together - creating magick!

It’s Showtime! Halloween morning at 9:11am on YouTube! Please join me for the live premiere of my very first short, stop-motion film, The Mystery of Eve, which is a prologue to my debut #fairytale novel, Alchemy (out 11/11 on Amazon) The film ends on a bit of a tragic cliffhanger but I promise a very satisfying ending to their tale in the novel! 💜 A very special Thank You to the super talented @kmksparkles who took this fun photo with a few of my paper creations! (Seriously, if you need a great photographer- you’re welcome! ☺️)

My Fairytale Novel Alchemy is finally here! Her birthday was 11/11. Bill made us a cake to celebrate her debut! She is in the world now, no longer just in my heart. I hope and wish is that she finds those who are seeking her.

Though this story is a Fairytale, it was born from a time of grief, when I felt utterly depleted. At it’s core, it’s a story of healing, a tender, whimsical, and often challenging voyage back to the light within.

For an additional immersive experience, first watch the short film, The Mystery of Eve, for hidden clues. (More to come on that) Eve is a character from the novel. The film is her backstory and how the House was created, 60 years prior to when Cassandra, the protagonist in my novel, arrives at the front gates. The film is Live on my YouTube channel. #bookstagram #fairytale #bookbirthday #alchemyafairytale by @marirdesign
