In memory of my father—my first love and the toughest man I knew. We clashed often, but only because we were cut from the same cloth, outspoken and rebellious, with sharp tongues and hearts that love fiercely. My father had 3 loves… He loved his family, traveling, and music more than anything, and music was truly his spirit’s language, the way he resonated in this world/lifetime. It grounded him yet gave him wings, a connection to earth and his own mystical escape. A proud Pisces man from Boston and a complex dreamer, he believed in having a purpose and fiercely held onto his dreams, regardless of who understood or didn’t. To be loved by him was to know loyalty and depth, a rare privilege. No matter how old I became, he never let me forget that I was his baby girl, his to worry over and cherish. He took his final breath on November 2nd at 3:33 pm, with me by his side as he transitioned—a gift that I will forever hold close to my heart.

Turning 30 yesterday felt amazing. I used to be anxious around the thought of who I would be at 30 and if I would be happy with myself. Everything I do for myself and my happiness is centered in being the best for little Ris. She deserves everything her heart desires in this lifetime and I am dedicated to making it happen. I can actually say I am sitting in a lot of my past prayers and manifestations. I am so proud of who I am. I am so happy to call DC my new home. I am so proud of my career milestones. I am so covered in love and support by my tribe. I have a lot to show for my 30 years. So grateful. My heart is so full.
