Hellooooo and some updates👇

Hi, I’m Marissa 👋 My June B2B with @djhipstir recently went viral, so it’s time to say hello to my new followers.

I’m a selector, DJ, and dance music producer based in Austin, TX, USA. I share content about underground dance music, queer rave culture, and my journey to make creative practice a central part of my everyday life.

I’m heavily influenced by UK acid house, 80s synth pop, Jock Jams (iykyk), Italo disco, and the cassette mixtapes I used to make as a kid. I recently attended two UK festivals (@fieldmaneuvers, @lostvillagefestival) and am already planning my next trip to Europe.

It’s my mission to connect and collaborate with other creatives and music lovers when I travel. DM me if you’d like to get a coffee or plan a future adventure together. ❤️

If you’ve been following me around Austin, you might know me as Firewheel. I retired that artist identity recently (I’m just MARISSA from now on).

I’m brewing some plans for combo virtual + in-person house parties this fall. If you want to be the first in line to RSVP, check the link in my bio to sign up for email and text updates. 💌

FIELD MANEUVERS SCRAPBOOK 💗📸

Here is a visual love letter to @fieldmaneuvers, the happiest place on Earth 💌 (at least one of the happiest places I’ve ever been, mud and all), and to the beautiful people who welcomed me, danced with me, tolerated my increasingly inane jokes about world music, and invited me back to do it again next year 🪩

People who share music with you are the most important people ❤️

May the blue dancing men live forever 💙
