🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 3 days, driving mountain passes south to north, solo, walking ten miles along the ridge of an earthwork built in 760 A.D. that still separates Wales from England, past Iron Age forts, castle ruins, surrounded by wild ponies, ancestral sheep herds, and ore-red pheasants. sharing a pint during lambing season in the crypt of a 1000 year old priory ruin. warming up with golden-fried fish and chips on the wind-whipped shores of the Irish Sea. resting under the shelter of a gnarled, moss covered hill-side oak. wales, you have my heart 🌹 “diolch,”thank you taken in Wales, UK by @marississippi_

The year began with fires. It marked summer with ice.
It’s impossible to look around this country without seeing the toll 2025 has taken on its people. And still, everywhere, there are signs of care—neighbors showing up, hands reaching out, communities refusing to be erased.

This year humbled me, but it also clarified what matters most. It’s the unfettered, uncurated, deeply human parts of us that carry us through—that must be celebrated and protected. A teacher told me this year that life is choice, and choice is loss. I’m learning that it’s also courage: choosing connection, choosing softness, choosing to keep going.

To be human is to be messy, to be lost, to be loved. Here’s to a new year—unflattened by algorithms both proverbial and literal. Here’s to choosing to follow what brings us joy. Here’s to choosing one another. by @marississippi_

this tour felt like a pilgrimage 🗺️ i reconnected with family, honkey tonked my way back to some forgotten memories, and played some of my absolute favorite stages yet ✨ thanks to all our new friends for showing us the true meaning of southern hospitality 🍒
