Seit der Eröffnung im Juni 2026 ist der ehemalige Wohn- und Arbeitsort von Franz Josef Altenburg als Schauraum und Archiv neu erschlossen und an ausgewählten Wochenenden für alle Interessierten ohne Voranmeldung zu besichtigen. Für alle, die es bis jetzt noch nicht nach Asperding 1 geschafft haben, teilen wir hier ein paar Raumeindrücke.
Die Ausstellungsarchitektur greift charakteristische Merkmale aus Altenburgs keramischem Werk auf und übersetzt diese in den Raum. Selbst gefertigte Podeste und Regale gliedern die bestehenden Räume und schaffen unterschiedliche Situationen für die Präsentation und das Archivieren der Arbeiten. Neukonzipierung, Entwurf und Umsetzung erfolgten im Rahmen der Diplomarbeit in Architektur an der TU Wien durch Batja Ferch @batjaf und Julia Kley @juliakle_ in engem Austausch mit der Familie Altenburg.
So entsteht ein Zusammenspiel von Bestand, Ausstellungsarchitektur, keramischem Werk und innovativen Perspektiven, das den Vierkanthof als Ausstellungsort neu erfahrbar macht.

Dieses Jahr gibt es im Oktober noch an folgenden Wochenenden die Möglichkeit den Hof in Breitenschützing zu besichtigen:

17. und 18. Oktober

Dana Meyer, Hilde, 2013 🌿🐖

With Hilde, @danameyer_steelsculpture creates a monument to an animal that has accompanied humans for millennia and is also one of the most heavily industrialized farm animals of our time. The pig sits contentedly on its pedestal, as if savoring the moment. The visible traces of the forging process lend Hilde a lively physicality.

In the Imperial park, she thus becomes a sympathetic ambassador for an animal whose intelligence and sensitivity are often overshadowed by its economic use.

Matthias Garff, Robin, Great Tit, Goldfinch & Chaffinch, all 2019 🌿🪶

@matthias_garff’s monumental Robin is made from a car roof box, a doormat, wood, paint, and bicycle bells. As unlikely as this combination of materials may sound, the bird gazes out at viewers with remarkable liveliness and charm. Garff constructs his other bird sculptures from discarded everyday objects as well, sourced from flea markets or from friends and family. The Goldfinch, for example, incorporates an old suitcase that once belonged to the artist’s father. Through this approach, Garff draws on the art-historical traditions of assemblage and object art, rooted in the readymades of modernism and later developed through the material experiments of Nouveau Réalisme.

His works reflect a contemporary world in which nature and human life are inseparably intertwined. Balancing playful invention with subtle ecological reflection, they offer a fresh perspective on the relationship between nature, material culture, and the realities of everyday life.

Hi there!
Ich bin Aigul, eine amerikanische Künstlerin, geboren in Kirgisistan. Kunst habe ich in Bischkek studiert.
Seit 2023 lebe und arbeite ich in Österreich.
2023 durfte ich meine Arbeiten in Salzburg ausstellen, gefolgt von Einzelausstellungen 2024 und 2025 in Attersee am Attersee. Meine Gemälde befinden sich heute in privaten Sammlungen in den USA, Deutschland, Belgien und Österreich

Dear Lui, thank you very much for this relaxed conversation about the art market and Gustav Klimt and Alfred Kubin. Your expertise as a gallery owner and art dealer @wienerroitherundkohlbacher has given us a broader insight into the world of art. It was exciting to hear how art historical research, provenance research and restitution affect the value of the artworks. There are so many parameters that influence the art market. Am Freitag feierten wir mit einer tollen Podiumsdiskussion in der Villa Paulick den 150. Geburtstag von Emilie Flöge 🎂! Wir sind voller Demut wie viele Menschen mit uns diesen Abend genossen haben. Dabei müssen wir ein großes Danke an den TVB @attersee_attergau aussprechen, der Hauptveranstalter dieses Events war. In zweiter Folge möchten wir an die Schüler*Innen der HBLA Lentia ein großes Danke aussprechen, die Emilie in ihren neuen Modedesigns wiederbelebt haben! An alle die in der Kürze nicht genannt werden können: Danke für Ihre Unterstützung und ihren Glauben an den Verein Klimt am Attersee!
Stolz sind wir auch einen kleine Sendezeit beim ORF erhalten zu haben! Es war ein wunderbarer Abend 💃
