Riding alone is nice but riding with the girls is the best.

I can’t help but think that they’ll always remember the feeling of holding on to dad and the feelings of security and presence that come with it. Cherishing this and trying to build moments that keep them “returning home” as they get older and meet hardship. by @mark_watt

Spring - Summer. Don’t worry about trying to find “that one thing”. Chasing passion and progress means many things can be true at the same time. Hard things and beautiful things. Late to the party here, BUT I’ve been traveling… 🤷🏻
Can’t tell you how honored I am by YOU, the #FANS, to have received the KLOVE award for @jonathanandjesus (and been there for @thechosentvseries win!!) with my friends, colleagues and fellow producers, @katherinewarnock, @mark_watt, Director- #DanStewart, @pelobrad, @dallas.jenkins, @derraleves and my entire #American and #Canadian dream teams who helped bring this project together. 😭🥰🙏🏽⭐️

I’ve realized doing a live television award show you never quite get to say everything you intended to say, which is why people write speeches. 🤪

SO, here’s more of what I wanted to say:

THANK YOU JESUS, for putting me on this journey to self-discovery, evolution, and a deeper walk and intimacy with you.

Fellow nominees, I’m humbled to be in your company! As I said to some of you the other night, I struggle with the concept of objectivity/subjectivity and competition, especially when it comes to art and storytelling.

To DANIEL STEWART, my Director, ally and eventually, my dear, dear friend - for never pushing me to reveal more than I was ready to in the moment, and for making me feel safe, seen and included every step of the way. Some specific shoutouts to our immense Canadian team, including: DYLAN, JOSH, NICOLE, SAM, GORDIE, DARRYL, TIM, EVANGELINE, RYAN, CHRIS and everyone else.

A couple of unsung heroes including Michael Abrams and Sheila Perez who in particular, kept me sane and grounded as the reality of a newfound, international fame began to set in. —Friends, thank the prayer warriors in your life often—

For the countless guests, celebrities, authors, pastors, influencers, and thinkers who shared their own incredible (and often emotional) stories, and for their vulnerability…including @sheilaedrummer @alicecooper @jontremaine @daniellejstrickland #FrancisChan, @nickygumbel @scottwhahn @mattfradd @brandonflowers @itsalaasafi @anthonyvincentbova and soo many others…

A lot happens in a year. Today’s Kalie’s birthday. This time last year there’s no way she would have believed that she would be calling “our” 100lb German Shepherd “sweet heart”, welcoming kittens into the house, living in an RV for 5 months or watching our girls run through our orchard. We’ve collected some bruises but made some moves. We’re honouring the realities of the space between what was and what we’re dreaming for. We’re building traditions, rhythms and fighting to make moments rich amidst the unpredictable things.

Here’s to rewriting the seasons as they come, holding fast to what’s true, taking hold of what’s possible within our grasp and leaving room for the “impossible”.

I’ve seen more fight, virtue, commitment and peace in Kalie this year than before. You’re showing our girls how to chase what we value. And I feel it, 37 will be an outlier too. Proud of you. Love you. Like you.

After hearing this song my whole life… I never really caught this line. I don’t sit and ponder the lyrics of most Christmas songs. This one is unexpected.

It’s been a full summer. A hard summer. A memorable summer. A beautiful summer. All things that somehow can co-exist.
Trying to finish well and start well as summer fades into fall. But the images of my girls chasing dogs through the orchards and the beautiful people we get to do life with are here to stay. 🙏🏻 by @mark_watt
