BLACQness Spotlight: Mark Agyakwa Founder | Creative Director | Sports & Culture Entrepreneur Mark Agyakwa is building at the intersection of sport, fitness, culture and business, driven by one belief: move with purpose. He’s the founder of Y-Fit Wear, an activewear brand combining technical sportswear with athleisure, designed to remind people to remember their why and live intentionally through movement. He’s also the founder of Fit For The Culture (FFTC), a global sport, fitness, health and wellness media platform celebrating Black athletes, fitness creators and everyday movers. Through content, events and community, FFTC tells the stories that sit between performance and identity, championing voices that deserve to be seen and heard. Before entrepreneurship, Mark spent over 10 years in football, working as a scout, football analyst at Opta, and across commercial, brand partnerships and player recruitment at Roc Nation Sports. Now he’s bringing that experience into building brands and platforms that challenge representation, celebrate culture and create opportunities for underrepresented voices. Why He Matters Mark knows sport is about more than performance. It’s about identity, belonging and the stories that shape culture. Through Y-Fit Wear and Fit For The Culture, he’s creating spaces where Black talent and communities can see themselves reflected and celebrated. For Mark, entrepreneurship isn’t just a job title. Q1 - 2026: Clarity through the Chaos 🏁 When life gets tough, your lifestyle can become your place of solace. I’m learning to lean into what I’ve built. The creative freedom, the discipline, the gym, the process, the knowledge and experience gained, the peace, it becomes more than work. It becomes a lifeline. It becomes your strength. This path of entrepreneurship, this life I chose is what makes me strong enough to deal with whatever life throws at me. I didn’t know how much I needed my business in these times. To uplift me during hard times. It’s given me more than I ever expected. This path has blessed me with the right people. The ones who challenge you, believe in you, show up in ways you didn’t even know you needed. You can’t manufacture that, it finds you through the work and through the vision. God is the architect of it all. I’m grateful for my life. Grateful for the rooms I’m in. Grateful for the people who see something in me even when I’m still figuring it out. Grateful for my family and support system who believe in me and in the vision and love me through it all. And grateful for the reminders. When giving up is a serious consideration. We keep going not matter what. Look how far we have come. We started with nothing. We have an opportunity everyday to better ourselves and impact lives. Can’t take that for granted.
