On July 14, @charpatterson and I celebrated seven years of marriage together. I can’t imagine doing life with anyone else. We’ve laughed, cried, relocated a few times (iykyk), grieved, and celebrated some incredible milestones. What stands out most is that we did it all together.

Char, there aren’t enough words to sum up who you are—a tailor-made, Heaven-sent gift. You are virtuous, kind, understanding, and a fascinating woman who effortlessly emanates beauty from the inside out.

I’m honored that I get to call you my wife!

Have you ever had a rejection that turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to you? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Rejection often feels like a dead end, but looking back, those moments are frequently the catalysts for our greatest growth.

Rewinding to 2010, I experienced a professional setback that hit hard. Promises had been made, expectations were high, and an announcement that didn’t include me was downright heartbreaking.

I didn’t handle it with much grace at the time—it was actually the beginning of my struggle with holding a grudge.

But that heartbreak was necessary. It was the push I needed to leave a comfort zone that was no longer serving me.

If you’ve been passed over, rejected, or are currently in the middle of a disappointment you don’t understand, take heart. The redirection is often setting the stage for where you’re actually meant to go.
