Today is Workers Memorial Day, when we honor all of the workers who died on the job over the past year. In the DC area building trades, we lost 19 Brothers this year. 15 of them were Latin American. 18 of them were non-union. This says so many things about what our priorities are and what needs to be done moving forward.

We chose April 28, because it's the anniversary of signing of the OSHA work safety act in 1970 that brought us many of the work safety safeguards that we have now. Unfortunately those safeguards are not enough, and are even being rolled back by the current Administration.

We need more workplace safety!
We need working class politicians!
We need to organize the unorganized!
We need to fight for immigrant rights!

RIP IBEW26 Brother Amanuel Mehari!
