WELCOMING MARKELLE LEIGH TO THE MERGE DANCE FAMILY!!!Teaching: JAZZ FUSIONComing from Columbus Ohio, Markelle (@markelleleigh) attended Point Park University as a dance major and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Right after college Markelle began her professional career as an ensemble dancer with Holland America Cruise Lines and RWS entertainment. After a year at sea Markelle decided to get her land legs and move to New York City to pursue a career in the live theatre and TV/film industry. Markelle has worked on Pre Production for many shows such as Into The Woods at City Center, Other World the Musical and Bliss the musical, as well as multiple cruise ship shows running internationally. Markelle has completed her second cruise ship contract with Step One Dance Company, performed back up dancing for Phish NYE at Madison Square Garden and Lawerence the Band and is the featured dancer in a music video for the band The Paper Kites. Markelle spent three weeks working as a dancer on episode 4 of Season 5 of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and a principle dancer on episode 6 Season 4 of the tv show Evil on Paramount Plus. Most recently Markelle just got off of the first national tour with Harry Potter and a Cursed Child. Markelle just recently performed for the FIFA World Cup Half Time Show! When she showed up the learning part was over, all of the choreography had been taught and it was up to her to learn by watching. And she did. She made some mistakes along the way and her mind reprimanded her relentlessly for it but she did it.My brain has been a tough one to live in recently but grateful for triumphs like this and friends like Hugo, that remind me of what I’m capable of. If you saw me mess up, you sure did, and you also saw me keep going. ✨♥️ by @markelleleigh
