@syccoworld has been present (heavily) in my playlists since the release of 'Nicotine' and there are very few tracks since that I haven't played dozens, potentially hundreds of times.

Sycco's latest release, 'Look Up' is no different and has already been played a 𝘧𝘦𝘸 times. Featuring as the title track to her second album set for release Oct 2, I reckon we could all get a few plays in by then.

I could be biased, but would you trust a recommendation from a casual listener or one that already has the lyrics burned into memory?

@brandonhawkinshuh has mastered the art of present-nostalgia in the way his tracks attach themselves to my memory, even on first listen.

Atmospheric and full of that ache you only get from longing, 'in the rug' arrives alongside 'do u ski?' and 'napoleon' as a three-track single, which feels like a pretty good excuse to spend some time in Brandon's catalogue.

@saltysw33t has spent the last few years making pop that is clearly identifiable as pop, but 'The Eye' is a different recipe.

It's darker. It's slower. It broods a little and refuses to be pinned down, pulling trip-hop textures into the fold without losing the hooks that got us here.

Straight off a run with Peach PRC, 'The Eye' is evidence of an artist pushing out the edges of her sound.

I'm listening (on repeat of course).

A few of my favourites from Mustafa! at Vision de Garçon's Cultural Fashion Night. I went in with very little context and left reminded of how important community spaces are for emerging artists, of all kinds. VDG brought together fashion, music, visual art, and spoken word under one roof.

If your bio is unclear, you’re not getting overlooked by chance, you’re getting skipped.

Promoters, writers, and listeners make decisions fast. If they can’t place you in seconds, the opportunity moves on. Your bio should tell people exactly who you are, where you’re based, and what you sound like.

Fix the basics, and more doors start to open.
