My first experience of "success" was the promotion parade at the civic center under Special K. To be at Wembley for the Carabao Cup final, and to live through that win and the weekend that surrounded it after the disappointment of 2 yrs prior, is a feeling I'll never forget. But, living overseas has its drawbacks and to miss the feeling of a city wide participation event and to embrace this with the people that couldnt be at Wembley - my Mam, my sister, my nephews, my wife (who only cares because I care ) and my own to wonderful kids, as well as my many childhood friends who care so much about NUFC is tough. Embrace this moment. It's been 70 yrs and several Geordie generations in the making. I hope I'm lucky enough to see it again, but if I'm not them I'm luckier than many that went before me. My parents, my sister, my brother in law, my wife and all of our kids lived it, breathed it and even understood it and were lucky enough to be alive and experience it in the same lifetime. What a weekend!! Great craic with a brilliant group of lads. Finally seeing the Toon lift a cup and living through the emotions of everyone in the Newcastle end is something we will never forget. Absolutely incredible ⚪⚫🏆
