Jan Loup has spent years tweaking sound-systems, organizing DIY raves, and soundbending dubstep, drum & bass, and halftempo rhythms. Parties are modern rites, sounds are spells. Their special flavour of farfala dub or juicily juked Lemon-Tek remix can both be tasted on Markham Road Records – who sync up with #wubwub next Friday.

With so much excitement, we’re finally able to present the first track from Audio Waste Management! This track features none other but Lyon’s @ara.aracoeli , providing serious counterbalance to the weight of the projects percussion

We’re also super happy to invite Aracoeli to perform with us on the 22nd of October at Grrrnd Zero. More information on the event is available via our link in bio
______

The EP opens with A-Ttrav-Ers-Are (feat. Aracoeli), head spinning, full force, and Lyon-tinted, whatever that might mean. A standout vocal performance from Aracoeli is accompanied by every single 808 burn that you might imagine from a Brodinski/Warzou collab. Unsurprisingly this is a characteristic that continues throughout the whole project. taken in Lyon by @markhamroadrec

@eckobazz delivers a full throttle performance on AWM, the new collaborative project from @louisbrodinski & @warzou_bigscience

It seems like only yesterday that the first vocal demos came through. Much love to Ecko for this process and for the track that emerged out of it
———
Track two is Okutya (feat. Ecko Bazz), a proper sound system melter. Uganda’s conscious rapper comes correct, melting into the project’s industrial aesthetics and funnelling the listener towards an instrumental second half. His vocals sit strangely suspended, delivering an uncanny listen in line with the metallic character of the release

#wubwub syncs with Markham Road Records on October 9 for another night of heavy low-end at Ankali. Toulouse-based DJ and producer Jan Loup lands in Prague with their rich blend of deep dubstep, halftime, drum & bass and percussive rhythms, joined by basic chanel, founder of Untitled 909 – both part of the Useless Seconds family.

Amphibian’s DDAT join the wub with Markham Road head Westdale completing the wobbly lineup built on the Prague-Brno axis. Be ready, it’s going to hit somewhere below the ribcage.

Psychedelic bass thunder. Not exactly sure what we mean? Well, we suggest a quick listen through the 13th release on Markham Road. Milan’s very own Aeery follows up a successful release on ESKA with another absolute dark forest classic.

The EP opens with X-Cape, a steppy trance-tech roller whose half-step cadence leads listeners straight into the rabbit hole. But not to stop there, X-Cape quickly turns into a seriously unrelenting pulse, leading an overall trance-tech energy for the whole project. As you’ll soon find out, this kind of patterning wizardry is a defining feature of Aeery’s production throughout the release.

For the second track, Aeery opens up a new can of worms, this time turning toward mutant dancehall rhythms. Something we have certainly missed on the label as of late :’) The title track, Colla, maintains the same calculated twists and turns, bottoming out in the middle with a steady 4x4 pulse that somehow brings to mind the anarchistic EBM many of us were listening to when we first entered the scene.

Dash Mode comes third. Swampy, steady, and pretty uncanny. Remember that dark forest classic reference from earlier? Well, Dash Mode might be a clue as to where that came from. To each their own, of course, but we can easily imagine bass-tech like this feeling right at home during some late-night summer festivities.

When Aeery first looked into a remix for the project, it was clear that it needed to maintain the same sense of storytelling introduced by the original tracks. The three-track EP needed to round out with something capable of completing the sentence. Thankfully for us all, Piezo was up to bat, delivering a swingingly steady techno roller that brings both melting nostalgia and new energy to an already sweltering EP.

Big love to Milan for this one <3

Now to be honest, there are few and far between in the experimental electronics scene that haven’t heard Triple A at a club. Like many others, this was our first introduction to Noise Casino’s sound and it’s been a continued search ever since.

Starting off with a hefty step pattern, Noise Casino joins us on the Markham Mix series for an hour or so of sonics. This mix is club certified, showcasing a diversity of genres, approaches, and opportunities. Lock in :))

We’re super happy for this inaugural handshake, hopefully opening up a Pandora’s box of future collaborations with such a special producer.
