Legendary golf course architect Walter Travis designed the original Great Dunes 100 years ago during Jekyll Island’s Club Era, when it catered to the nation’s wealthiest and most prominent families. Today, Nos. 4-11 are among a few of the Travis-designed holes open to the public thanks to architects Brian Ross and Jeffrey Stein, who restored the course last year. by @markjaronski
