Still taking in what it meant to bring Mr. Nelson, Did You Kill People? to Toronto.

Thank you to TIFF for welcoming our film and giving us the opportunity to share it with such a generous audience.

To Shinya Tsukamoto and everyone at CMI, thank you for taking a chance on me and trusting me with this story. That opportunity changed my life, and I will always be grateful.

Rodney Hicks, thank you for your generosity, guidance and unwavering support throughout this entire journey. Sharing this character and experience with you has meant more than I can put into words.

To the Nelson family, thank you for welcoming us and trusting us with a story that belongs to your family. Meeting you and sharing this moment together was an honor I will never forget.

And to our cast, crew, producers, publicity team, friends, family and everyone who supported me along the way, thank you. Every conversation, kind word and helping hand brought me to this moment.

Toronto, thank you for the memories. This is only the beginning. #tiff #movie #redcarpet by @markmerphy

one week until mr. nelson, did you kill people? has its world premiere at venice. even typing that still feels a little unreal lol.

two years ago i was just grateful somebody trusted me with the opportunity to tell a piece of allen nelson’s story. now this film is about to be seen by people around the world, and i don’t think i’ll fully understand what that means until it actually happens.

i’m incredibly grateful to shinya tsukamoto for trusting me with allen, and to everyone who took a chance on me and helped me get here. and so much love to rodney and taty. getting to know you both through this experience has meant just as much to me as making the film itself. i couldn’t have asked for better people to share this with.

there are so many people behind this movie that gave everything they had to it, and in one week it finally belongs to the audience.

venice first. then toronto. 🇮🇹🇨🇦

just grateful, excited, and trying to take all of this in while it’s happening.

see you soon ❤️ by @markmerphy
