For 47+ years, teaching and helping others grow has been at the heart of my work. After graduating from Salem State College, I began by teaching high school business students as well as those with special needs, then became a corporate trainer at Digital Equipment Corporation. From there, I led training and development before assuming the role of Head of Human Resources at a global law firm, became a partner at a career consulting and HR firm, and ultimately joined Hult International Business School as a career advisor to MBA students from around the world.

At Hult, I taught the practical skills needed to navigate an American job search, including writing strong and persuasive resumes, leveraging LinkedIn, communication skills, networking, job negotiations, utilizing AI and more. But the most meaningful part was getting to know my students personally and helping them build careers and lives in the United States.

Although I retired on January 1st, I continue this work through my private career-coaching practice: www.flatrockcareers.com.

I was recently honored to be invited to return to Hult to speak with this year’s graduating MBA students. It was a meaningful reminder of why I have loved this work for so long—and why I believe supporting international students makes our country stronger. taken in Hult International Business School by @marknewall
