POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s been a grind of a year but it’s in the grind where we are forced to grow.

Ive learnt to accept, even enjoy the grind.
It builds character.
It enhances life.

Ive had some good personal results in the 1st half of the year and I’ve lost some consistency in the 2nd half of the year but im back enjoying the grind.

It feels so good to be back ⛰️🏃‍♂️
I have big plans for you 2026

An eventful weekend excursion to Montagu for @thecogmans.run.

Rocking my @kwaysky run 100k T-shirt to remind myself that I’m capable of doing hard things when things got tough.

I got to test all the work put on this run and the progress has been tremendous.
Managed to claim my first spot on the podium finishing 3rd in 6 hours 16 minutes.

A big shoutout to coach @nic_debeer
Also to @roelof_mostert on being a great training partner, a hard man and inspiration to my running journey who had a great performance taking the win!🥇

Majestic mountains, good company and a great event!

Thanks for having us @thecogmans.run

It really doesn’t matter how well you are prepared the mountains will find a way of humbling you, especially over ultra distance.

My colleague and friend @bulelanimhlangulane it was a pleasure to finish the race with you and it made for some epic stories that will stay with us for a long time.

@pass2pass_ Thank you for having us! Well organised and well marked courses even with the improvised route due to the weather conditions.

To my beautiful lady @kay_ontherocks who braved the storm and spent her whole day out there waiting for me to offer any support possible.
You gave me strength when all I wanted to do was find a way out, you helped me find a way through the hardship. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you ❤️

@capeunionmart It’s our honour and pleasure to represent us in these events. This is just the start of what’s to come 😁

Back to the drawing board and onto the next!
Thank you for having us 🙏🏼

Kway Skyrun 2023

Extremely challenging 100k 4500d+ course, self supported, self navigated and at an altitude between 1600 and 2750 meters above sea level.
All played a factor in making this experience like no other I have done before.

It was a test of my body, mind and shear will.
The kind of test that makes you question who you are and why you are there, suffering willingly.
One goes through a rollercoaster of high and low emotions, while surrounded by the most magnificent views.

It took alot of grit to get the job done
but with great pleasure, after 27 hours of running, trekking and climbing, I am proud to have earned the title #skyrunner

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone involved in making this life changing experience happen!

To my family @capeunionmart @kwaysa and the legend @pierre_with_the_gear for helping me to get here. I would not be here without your support.

@hokafans_sa The Speedgoat 5s where pushed to the extreme on this course and they did everything superbly while staying comfortable! They were the perfect tool for the job.
Thank you for sponsoring them!

@ajcalitz Knowing that you were there rooting for me to do well was a great source of fuel to keep me going. All the knowledge you shared with me didn't hurt either!

To the wonderful group of people we stay with in Lady Grey, you guys made this experience most memorable.

@pierre_with_the_gear Legend! Thank you for all you have done to get me here! Your support was a big part of making this possible but you also made it most pleasant, not to mention the incredibly needed support on the route! I appreciate you!

Wow! What a day!
My first official ultramarathon race in the bag, it was painfully beautiful.

The scenery on the route was magnificent but the people made it even more special.

It was a great honour and privilege to represent @goodwoodharriers

Thank you to all you guys for all your messages and well wishes. I carried extra motivation with me today.

We are a product of what we do consistently and the people we surround ourselves with.

Surround yourself with people on the same mission as you and watch yourself thrive.

Im lucky enough to have some really great influences in my life. One of them is this legend @marc_bester.

The term "legend" gets used too often these days but this guy gives meaning to the word.

He has helped my break so many mental barriers when it comes to #running and im grateful to call this legend a friend.

Thank you for being a positive influence on my mentality and for being you, grandmaster freak.

"If you're not doing what you love, you're wasting you time"

I love places that make you realise that we take life too seriously and give us a perspective on what is actually important to us.
