A few days ago, an old friend of ours, A. Torres ( @antxtorres too many images captured from way back ) posted these MISFITS ( tm ) photos from HALLOWEEN Night ‘97 live @ The Palace, now called The Avalon, in HOLLYWOOD, CA. I remember this night vividly. The fiends that went were S. Ingram, The Fister Bros., R.Marks aka Ken Doll, The Fog & I. h20 as The Baseball Furies & Sick Of It All as The Clockwork Orange opened for The ‘FITS as crew members of the U.S.S. Enterprise, except M.Graves, I think? Yeah, it isn’t Glenn Danzig fronting the band & never in our wildest dreams think that would ever happen, we’re wrong, oh so wrong! The show? Phenomenal! The fearsome foursome blazed through their set w/ classics ( GD era ) & new ( soon to be classic songs from the AMERICAN PSYCHO record ) tunes! I believe some of these songs ended up on the EVILIVE I I CD? I wish I still have the hat I bought from this show! My favorite memory from this night was meeting Jerry Only in the parking lot & he was wearing b*stard pants! We got a picture w/ him & he signed a few dollar bills for us! Swipe to the end, a few relics I found from my collection, a newspaper clipping about the concert & my ticket stub ( 15 bucks? Wow! ) that J. Only signed. @soundandfuryfest announcement # 1 have been released today. It’s a surprise to a lot that Carry On is going to be playing the fest. Carry On have been a pivotal/important band for me. Not just that, they’re also friends. So, I’m pumped for people that are fans & for the new generation that have never got to see them live, to dance, dive, sing a long to. I pulled out a few artifacts from my collection to share w/ you! 1.) Flyer for a show @ The Che Cafe in San Diego, C O as The MeatMen. “WE’RE CARRY ON FROM L.A. AND YOU SUCK!!!” 2.) An unused center label for the Memories Of Tomorrow comp LP by YoungBlood Records, C O kicking it off on the B-Side. 3.) 20 year old me on top singing a long to C O @ The Ojai Women Center taken by Anthony Torres. 4.) Promo card stock of “A Lifeless Plagued” LP by Bridge 9 Records, the backside is Breathe In. 5.) Part of the Thank You list of A L L P LP, my name next to my best friend Jeff & our lifelong buddy, Pat, PRP! 6.) Coming up on 21 years since C O last played @ The Showcase Theater, these are my ticket stubs from that weekend. $9.99? Ridiculous! I have more memorabilia. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t take care of my pictures I took during that time. So hopefully Todd J. have saved most of them! See you in Los Angeles, not in the pit but I’ll be standing on the side at the fest! PS Can we get F-Minus on this fest? by @marko_d
