Godspeed Brigette Bardot, the timeless cultural icon whose beauty and talent defined an era. She leaves behind a prestigious legacy.
Not just her cinematic history, but also her incredible work with animal welfare.
An amazing lady who was brave and honest with her political opinions that continually led to prosecution from the french government. Rest in Peace BB 🙏🏻❤️ #brigettebardot by @markrgurney

Such sad news hearing that our greatest player Billy Bonds has passed away aged 79.
He was our Captain, our Leader and the epitome of commitment and respect. King Billy had a connection with us fans and knew what we wanted to see both as player and manager and he always gave 100% in both roles.
A man who gave inspiration to young men who maybe had no father figure. An incredible leader, a hero to many and an absolute legend of football and The West Ham Way. My thoughts are with Billy’s family, friends and former team mates. Rest in Peace 🙏🏻❤️⚒ #billybonds #westhamunited by @markrgurney

Absolutely amazing Gary Numan concert on Friday night, the 45 year anniversary of his 1980 Teletour concerts.
I went to the original gig aged 12 on 15 Sept 1980 with my cousins @gazewar @caroledwards7870 at the legendary same venue, the wonderful then Hammersmith Odeon.
It was like stepping back in time inside the gorgeous art deco auditorium with my dear cousin @gazewar
Last time we were here together was over 45 years ago!!
Gary gave a phenomenal and emotional performance as he managed to continue the tour following the sad passing of his younger brother John the weekend before. He dedicated the show to him since this is his home turf which made the evening especially poignant.
Like myself, Gary was born in the area, his father Tony was in the audience and his Hammersmith Odeon concerts have always been special. A venue that must of hosted more musical giants than any other.
So good to be there 45 years on seeing Gary Numan rolling back the years, including a few epic numbers from the Tubeway Army debut LP. Truly Inspiring! #garynuman #tubewayarmy #tubewayarmyandgarynuman #teletour #ravennuman #hammersmithodeon by @markrgurney

Sad and shocked to hear about the passing of Ronald ‘Rhano’ Burrell. He, alongside his brother Rheji were unrivalled House music producers during the golden era of the late 8ts/early 9ts and their output during this period was outstanding.
Here’s a picture I took of the Burrell brothers back in 1992 in NYC and some of their fine records under many aliases.

Lee Collins ❤️🙏🏻 such a super nice, humble guy that’s up there with the very best of them.
Whilst reflecting on the sad news I’ve been listening to a couple of old mixes from Lee and huge respect to @boowilliamsmusic for sharing one from Lee’s legendary Disco Madness show that he launched back in 1983.
My thoughts are with the Chicago music community and sincere condolences to Lee’s loved one’s, brother @sadarbahar and the Soul in the Hole family and every one of Lee’s friends and followers. Godspeed Lee ❤️🙏🏻 by @markrgurney

Saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Wilson. It’s impossible to put into words the importance and huge impact his talent, vision and artistry has had on the world of music.
I was fortunate to see Brian perform Pet Sounds (one of the most important albums recorded) back in 2002 at the Royal Festival Hall. I will never forget the fervent goosebumps and emotion I felt during ‘Don’t Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder)’ a concert that will live long in the memory and possibly one of the best I have experienced.
A musical genius, pioneer, supplier of the sublime, master of melody and tremendous arrangements.
One of the greatest song writers of the 20th Century.

OTD (59 years ago) on Friday 20 May 1966, The Beatles came here to Chiswick House and Gardens to shoot colour promotional films for ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Rain’ (their new single).
Both films were directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. The ‘Rain’ film shows Ringo walking away from the northern gate in the walled garden and the group miming while seated on a low, heavy branch of a cedar tree, walking around inside the conservatory and loafing in the leafy bushes.
The ‘Paperback Writer’ scenes were shot at the end of the statue garden where the group mimed to the words, the center circle under the dome of the conservatory and sitting on the bench just a few metres along outside.
Bob Whitaker tool several photographs of the occasion, one of which featuring the group under the cedar tree was used as the cover of their new EP Nowhere Man.
