I'm calling this La Burguesa de los Gauchos. The burger of the Gauchos.

This was some seriously good Aberdeen Angus beef from @huntspremiumbeef , just up the road in Gloucestershire. 3rd generation farmers selling the best quality beef.

I made 4 patties using 500g beef mince, seasoned with salt, pepper and a pinch of jalapeño flakes.

Then the steak. Gaucho steak. I've never heard of this cut before. Insane marbling and a lovely piece of fat in the middle. I dry brined these with salt for 10 hours, 24 will not hurt.

I cooked these over coals, so got my charcoal lit. Whilst that was on the go, I made some chimichurri.
4 garlic gloves, 1 red chilli, 1 tsp dried oregano, handful of parsley, 100ml extra virgin olive oil and 2 tbsp red wine vinegar. Mash it up good in a pestle and mortar. You can blitz it as well.

When your coals are ready, get ready for direct cooking. Lay your steaks over the coals. This took around 5 mins to cook, turning regularly, for medium. Move them to the side away from the heat to rest.

Get your burgers on. If they're nice and thin, they'll take no time at all. Watch for flare-ups.

Move away from the heat, slap on 2 slices of sliced mozzarella, let it melt. Toast your buns.

Build your burger. Patty, steak, chimichurri. Done

This was so good. The steak tasted unreal and was soft as butter.

I would highly recommend getting some of this beef. Order online at https://huntspb.co.uk/

No Sunday roast revolt continues.

Chicken, lentil and spinach curry. Served with basmati rice, onion salad, mint yoghurt and poppadoms.

Enough for 4 people

2 onions, finely sliced
4 garlic gloves finely chopped
1 tbsp ginger puree
Small bunch of coriander, stalks and leaves separated, both chopped.
3 chicken breats cut into bite sized chunks
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp of tumeric, ground coriander, cumin powder, kashmir chilli powder, salt.
1 heaped tbsp curry powder
400g tin of green lentils, drained.
600ml chicken stock
160g baby spinach
Half a lemon
Oil

Method
Place a low sided, large casserole pan on a medium heat. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Add the onion and fry gently until softened.

Add the garlic, ginger puree and coriander stalks. Cook, stirring regularly 2 mins.

Add the chicken, fry, stirring regularly to cook the chicken through. About 10 mins.

Add the tomato puree and the spices. Stir and cook for 1 min, stirring constantly.

Add the lentils and chicken stock. Stir. Bring to the boil and reduce the heat to a simmer. Stir regularly to prevent it sticking. You want the sauce to reduce to a thick consistency. About 20 to 30 mins

Add the spinach on top. The heat will start to wilt it. Stir in and add the chopped coriander leaves, squeeze on the juice of the lemon half. Continue to cook for 2 mins or until the spinach is completely wilted.

Make some onion salad and mint yoghurt.

Serve with basmati rice and poppadoms.

Get ready for another shit show of a week.

This was an absolute winner in the MFC household.
Teriyaki chicken Ramen. Pow!!!! Sticky chicken, soft boiled eggs, salty savoury miso broth and slurpy noods.

I can't take too much credit for this, I just cooked it. But it's a big thank-you to @foodieholly for the ramen recipe. Absolutely delicious.
Also, a big thank you to @themrskathsymes for the teriyaki recipe and an apology for asking if shop bought is just as good as homemade.

But, what made this more special was my 11 year old son getting involved and helping to cook it all.

Thanks for the ❤️

I am inspired everyday by the people I follow on instagram. I save recipes to cook and take meal ideas from.

In November 2025 I saved a slow cooked Korean beef stew I saw on @marks_kitchen_and_bbq

It took me nearly a year to make it, but it was worth the wait. Instead of the diced beef used in Mark's recipe I used a beef and pork mixed mince, added a pepper and a squeeze off lime, and cooked in the trusted @crockpotuk

Sweet, spicy, sour, salty and umami. I had it all.

Great recipe Mark, thanks for the inspo

I'm saying this is a chorizo and orzo soup but that's just a small part of it. It also comes with carrot, chickpeas, cannellini beans, green beans and spring greens.

It's dead easy to make as you can see.
Sweat some onions and carrots. Add a sliced chorizo ring and fry that. Throw everything else in with a 1.25ltr of chicken stock. Season well.

There you have it, a rustic soup full of tasty goodness.

Stay tuned for more half arsed reels

Saturday night's meal.

I got bought some lovely spice kits that are from @spicetrovegifts

This was a coconut dahl and onion tarka. The instructions were clear and the final result was really enjoyable. We all loved it.

@theicekitchen Thai Pad Kra Pao Chilli Basil stir-fry was a smash in our house. Full of flavour, quick and easy to make.

Just buy the ingredients on the box and follow the method. This took the same amount of time to cook a pot of rice, so you've got a meal in no more than 15 minutes.

My honest review of these products is really positive. When you've got home from a day's work and you just want to cook something that is tasty and quick, these are a winner.

They've got 3 new flavours Korean Bulgogi, Vietnamese Lemongrass and Thai chilli & basil (Kra Pao) coming to @ocadouk in October.

Each pack comes with 2 pots (1 pot will serve 2 people) and the full list of ingredients you need to buy and cooking instructions on the box.

If you're anything like me, deciding what to cook each week is a royal pain.

These little beauts from @theicekitchen take that hassle away. Their frozen pots, made from natural ingredients, make quick and tasty midweek meals a piece of...

Feed a cold starve a fever.

We've all got the various stages of a cold. A Chinese fakeawy meal is always going to lift the spirits.

This is one of my favourite recipes to cook from @themrskathsymes

Beef in black bean sauce. Salty, hint of sweet and umami.
