A favourite from Obituary Season 2 🔪

It’s always a pleasure working on productions in Donegal, and I’m really looking forward to getting back on set this week for another series filming across the county over the next month!

I’ll be sharing plenty more from Obituary over the coming weeks. A big thank you to @producergemma and @paddy_haze for having me on board, and to Aideen at @donegalfilmoffice for her continued support in bringing productions to Donegal 🙏🏻

One of my favourite frames from Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale Season 2.

This was taken during one of the more intense scenes of the shoot. Days like this are what make unit stills so rewarding—you spend hours quietly observing, waiting for the right moment, and every now and then everything aligns, resulting in a frame like this!

It was a real pleasure to work with @amcplus and to work alongside Ingrid Goodwin again.

Looking back through my work recently, I kept stopping on this frame from The Dry Series 2.

I love it because it quietly sums up the family at the heart of the story. No big dramatic moment—just five people sitting together, and somehow you can feel the history, tension and love between them.

It was a real privilege to work with Producer Ingrid Goodwin on series 2, along with a brilliant cast and crew. Every time I’ve had the opportunity to work with @element_pictures it’s been an absolute pleasure! by @marksheenstills

In 2020, between lockdowns, a feature film came to a village near my home in Donegal. A good friend of mine, Eileen from @the__bothy asked if I’d be interested in coming on board for a few days.

I’d been a photographer for a few years, but I’d never stepped onto a film set before. Everything was new. I spent most of that first day watching, listening and trying to take it all in. Seeing so many talented people working together to bring a story to life was incredible, and I left knowing it was something I wanted to be part of.

The photograph in the first slide was taken during those few days. When the film was released, I walked into my local cinema and found it hanging in the foyer as the official poster. Seeing it alongside films starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh was pretty cool!

Being part of the It Is In Us All team led to many more opportunities, and after a few years I’ve decided to give my stills work a home of its own.

This page is where I’ll be sharing the stills I’ve captured along the way, and the stories behind them @marksheenstills by @marksheenstills
