My wife says I need to stop and smell the roses more. So here it goes!

When I moved to Nashville 4 and a half years ago, my first co-writer and roommate was @danharrisonmusic. For years, almost every night, we would write 2-3 songs per day, play gigs in the evenings, and write happy birthday songs for people at night online (not kidding). Dan quickly introduced me to @carsonbeyer and we’ve all written countless songs together, traveled the country together, and tried to chase this dream together.

When I’m not on the road playing my own shows, I’m writing songs. Two years back, I met @bradenhullmusic and we’ve written dozens of songs, but “End This Way” was different. Braden, Dan, @barrettbaber, and I wrote this one together and it just felt special. No one could have told me that day that the song would be viewed/ played over 20,000,000 times in a few months, no one could have told me it would be streamed millions of times, and I sure as hell wouldn’t have believed you if you told me it would be Braden’s debut single at radio and impact several of the major charts.

This post isn’t about the numbers. I have no control over those. We didn’t go #1. It’s just my reminder to myself to smell the roses and smile at the fact that the three stooges and my day ones in this town (second picture) somehow wound up on the same chart at the same time… within a few spots of each other…24, 27, 33.
