To all who served, Thank You. 🇺🇸

This October, I had the opportunity to premier an orchestral piece that was written to commemorate a poem by a Vietnam veteran who died during battle.

He depicts the horrors of war and how in many ways it is wrongly glorified back home.

Excerpt:
“ You folks read all the papers and watch the TV shows, but even with all that not one of you really knows. You hear the good side of our battles, the enemies we kill. You’ve never seen a buddy killed while charging up a hill.”

I have a great deal of respect and appreciation for our Armed Forces, as my grandfather and many friends and family have selflessly served.

For many veterans, they are unable to leave their experiences on the battlefield and many terrors travel back home with them.

For any veterans who struggle, I highly suggest the @creativets organization, run by my good friend @veteranart . Their events acknowledge the challenges veterans face, and provide resources to help them pursue a fulfilling lifestyle back home.

A Night At The Copa 🌴.

Performing at the Franklin Theatre was very special this time around, after it was recently nominated for ACM’s “Theater of the Year.”

To top it off, we were notified this week that our Barry Manilow Tribute Show was nominated for a Josie Award!

Hosted at the Grand Ole Opry House this fall, the Josie Awards recognizes independent artistry across all genres.

Thanks to Rich for producing a wonderful show, @amyesapp for facilitating and putting her faith in us, and @franklintheatre for being such incredible hosts.

There’s nothing quite like an @opry Christmas!

It was my goal at the beginning of the year to attend the Opry Christmas show and celebrate the 100th anniversary season. This year we did it in fashion, celebrating the incredible @familyallianceinmusic and their efforts supporting parents and caretakers on the music industry, watching the spectacular @laineywilson , and spending time backstage with artists and friends.

There is always something special about the feeling you get when you arrive here. You can truly sense the spirit of such a divine place of music.

And, in typical Nashville fashion, a trip to the Opry would not be the same without running into numerous close friends backstage. @marklogsdon @tylerkohrsmusic @theedwardjames @savmadigan by @markthress
